Using the I just want to get high and go fishing shirt In addition,I will do this bible and contemporary sources that were born around or after his supposed death as proof of his existence? Oh, and I can’t forget that the gospels that were chosen to make up the bible weren’t even written by the apostles they’re named after. And the church ignored a bunch of gospels that weren’t convenient to them, and then tried to wipe out the gnostics. And the followers of Jesus didn’t keep any artefacts related to him either. Did they find his burial place? Why do they fabricate things like the shroud of turin? I don’t know what you can prove by saying Jesus didn’t exist. There’s as much evidence of him, if not more, than Alexander the Great. The truth is there were many prophets back then and the Bible is not a credible historic book. It’s a book of fables, written by multiple people, edited and translated over the centuries to fit political agendas. It’s just not credible, and since being a prophet was a popular thing to do, and the Romans didn’t like it, they probably executed multiple prophets and they didn’t think twice about it. From their point of view they were very tolerant. All you had to do was make offerings to the Emperor and you could worship whatever God you wanted. Uh, there were plenty of agnostic sources as well, and I don’t think the Roman historians at the time were Christians. There is a theory that those sources, still written well after his death, made multiple prophets into the same guy. I’ve always thought of Jesus as an amalgamation of people, as his opinions are sometimes contradictory. Even if he was a single person, the dude tried to challenge the Roman Empire and died because he wasn’t even important enough to be considered someone important to save by his own people. Unfortunately I don’t remember where I read it. I’m a stroke survivor and while I have facts, I can’t always remember where I read it. But also… Wikipedia isn’t the best source. I don’t doubt there was someone Jesus is based on. Religion is a tool for control, I can’t believe the character portrayed in the Bible existed. I can see someone claiming to be a prophet, or multiple people, and someone else seeing that person as an opportunity to create a cult. Is there a third party trusted historical source that documents him during his lifetime that I’m not aware of?

That’s… irrelevant. Scholars agree on the I just want to get high and go fishing shirt In addition,I will do this fact that Jesus of Nazareth was crucified, not that his life is accurate to the Bible. Just because the Bible says something exist doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Yeah sure a guy just died and his death is indicative of problems that we currently face that need to be discussed and addressed with legislation but did you know this other guy who may or may not have even existed a long time ago in another country also died? I have no legislative solution to propose and its not really relevant i just thought i should bring it up because its all i have. Serious question – do we get presents on George Floyd Day? Or is that only if we’ve been out singing Floyd-themed carols? Pretty sure George Floyd doesn’t have a religion and holy book about him where the followers participate in a ritual to symbolically consume his flesh and blood
