I allocate Friday evenings for “myself” as my partner is very social and doesn’t enjoy alone time, she sees friends and I hang out with the I Fish So I Don’t Choke People Vintage Fishing T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this cat and just do whatever. Has taken some time to get better about vocalizing my need for personal space. From past experience of not handling it very well: it’s wayyy better to be open and honest about needing alone time than to deal with the negative effects of me being overwhelmed/frustrated by lack of alone time and being an ass, which understandably goes over much worse. The point of being in a relationship is to express yourself and have these conversations. That’s how you determine if you’re compatible. I had to have this conversation with my boyfriend! Love him to bits, but I’m an introvert with introverted hobbies and after a few months of dating, realized my mental health was crashing from neglecting the hobbies that made me feel good and be a better person.

It’s a conversation that needs to happen. Sometimes it needs to happen a few times to draw where your lines are at. Sometimes you need to be insistent that it’s not out of malice, but for your own well-being. My advice is to open up about what you want (more time for hobbies) and what you don’t want (her to be upset about spending more time on hobbies). Tell her why they’re important to you. Tell her when you’re setting aside that time for yourself (so she doesn’t expect anything else from you during that time). And tell her that it would mean a lot if she understood how all of these things effect you. This is a very normal need for people. Having alone time is important in a relationship and it’s important to communicate this with your partner. Not everyone enjoys being attached at the I Fish So I Don’t Choke People Vintage Fishing T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this hip. My partner and I are the same way. We love doing things together, but also enjoy having some “me time.” Ask her how she feels about you doing your hobbies when you’re at her place. You may be surprised to learn that she might not need you to be focusing on her every second. Sometimes it’s lovely to just be together, but doing different things. Maybe she’ll be perfectly content to read a book while you draw.
