My dad yelled for us to run and grabbed for the grenade, as it left his hand the shell burst sending shrapnel everywhere, he had cuts all over and my brother and I had several pieces in us. But I remember very clearly as I was running seeing a tiny blur go between my armpit and right arm and hitting my left hand. It just grazed me and I didn’t end up needing stitches but they did bring us all into the hospital and we had to get fresh clothes brought in and they had my Dad and brother on oxygen for a short while. Since then I’ve tried to avoid situations where I might get shot or tear gassed.
