In the I Don’t Coparent With The Government Sunglasses T-Shirt in other words I will buy this enchanting world of celebrity weddings, nothing is off limits. Sure, the average tying-of-the-knot makes for a beautiful affair to remember—but when some of the globe’s most notable personalities are involved, the ceremony gets heightened to epic proportions. Over the years, Vogue has covered its fair share of spectacular ceremonies, taking a behind-the-scenes look at everything from scouting the perfect location to searching for the ideal wedding gown.No location is out of reach for the world’s stars. The Vogue wedding archives hold a bevy of fairytale settings, from Ariana Grande’s intimate Montecito ceremony to supermodel Kate Upton’s whirlwind wedding weekend in Tuscany. Even more splendid? All of the bridal fashion, of course. The world collectively swooned when Amal and George Clooney tied the knot in 2014, and Amal was photographed during a final fitting with the late designer Oscar de la Renta. Or who could forget Kanye and Kim Kardashian West’s wedding that same year, when Kardashian West searched for the perfect bridal gown—Lanvin and Alexander McQueen included—in Vogue’s April issue.Below, a look at more of the best celebrity weddings to appear in Vogue.Ariana Grande wore a lily-white Vera Wang dress when she married Dalton Gomez at her home in Montecito. The affair was incredibly intimate, with fewer than 20 guests in attendance. The singer wore a shoulder-length veil topped with a satin bow—and winged eyeliner—to walk down the aisle.Originally, the Dynasty actor and her music-producer beau were supposed to get married in April 2020 at the St. Regis in Atlanta. However, like so many couples, the pandemic upended their original plan—and caused them to rethink everything. “It really focused everything down to what matters in life,” Corcoran said. “A big, extravagant experience in the middle of a pandemic didn’t make any sense.”Instead, they had a summer micro-wedding at a farm in central New Jersey. The bride wore a caped gown topped with a veil from Oscar de la Renta. Afterwards, an intimate group of family and friends toasted the couple at a farm-to-table dinner. The actor and her musician husband spent just 28 days planning their New Year’s Eve wedding in Austin. “The time just felt right,” Ryan said. After a ceremony at a local church, where the bride wore Elie Saab and the groom a green velvet tux, they headed to Hotel Van Zandt for their disco-themed reception. Dancing went so late into the night that the hotel had to shut them down.Tennis player Caroline Wozniacki and former Gold State Warriors star David Lee have a shared love of sports. So it was no surprise they kicked off their Tuscan wedding with some feats of athleticism: the Friday before the ceremony, guests ran obstacle courses, and participated in a game of tug-of-war. The rehearsal dinner took place among the castle ruins at Castiglion del Bosco, where guests ate cuisines from four food carts offering dishes from different regions of Italy. For the big day, the bride wore custom Oscar de la Renta. Dinner was served on one long table, set under a canopy of greens and strung with lights as well as hanging candles. Then it was onto “Club Caro,” a tent by the pool with suspended disco balls, for quite the party.Miles Teller wed model Keleigh Sperry in Maui, Hawaii, over Labor Day weekend. The bride wore Monique Lhuillier, and the groom donned a custom Celine tuxedo designed by Hedi Slimane. The vibe of the wedding, held at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua Hotel, was “traditional Hawaiian chic.” Tables were adorned with arrangements of palm fronds in chinoiserie vases, and pink flowers abounded. The affair went late into the night: the after-party, which was jungle-themed, was held in one of the property’s smaller ballrooms.DJ Tiësto married model Annika Backes at the Amangiri in Utah. The ceremony took place amid the resort’s futuristic architectural design and stunning desert landscape. “We love the silence and the scenery that makes you feel like you are on another planet,” Backes told Vogue of their venue choice. For their second wedding, Justin and Hailey Bieber wed at the Montage Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina. Hailey took Vogue inside her final fitting for her Off-White by Virgil Abloh dress. “From day one, I said I wanted Virgil,” she told Vogue. “I didn’t want somebody who was a wedding dress designer. I just feel like my style and my street style is such a part of who I am, and Virgil has always been in my corner since the beginning.”Miguel married his longtime love Nazanin Mandi—a model, actress, and artist—in November 2018. The couple held their under-the-radar ceremony at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch outside of Los Angeles. “Our wedding planner, Myra Harbour, from Celebrate Flowers and Invitations, had a huge hand in picking our venue,” Naz, who wore a Monique Lhuillier gown, told Vogue. “We described to her what we were looking for—a Spanish-style estate that we could book out for the entire weekend—and the Hummingbird Nest Ranch immediately came to mind. We saw the location and knew right away.” After the ceremony, guests were treated to a dinner of traditional Mexican food with a twist by chef Eduardo Ruiz. Followed by some tequila and dancing, courtesy of DJ Mick, an In-N-Out Burger truck then pulled up to satiate any late-night cravings. Before model Chanel Iman walked down the aisle with New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard in Beverly Hills, Vogue documented Iman’s final dress fitting. She wore a lace creation by Zuhair Murad. “His pieces always fit and complement my body, and his beadwork is exquisite,” said the bride. On a summer’s day in 2018, rapper Pusha T wed his longtime girlfriend Virginia Williams in their hometown of Virginia Beach. Pusha wore a Dior dinner jacket and tuxedo pants designed by Kim Jones, while Williams donned an embroidered Marchesa gown for the ceremony.Australian model Shanina Shaik wed Gregory Andrews (aka DJ Ruckus) on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. She wore a bridal design by Ralph & Russo.Model Kate Upton wed Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander in a whirlwind wedding weekend in Tuscany. “I had such a great time creating the fashion story for my wedding weekend!” Upton told Vogue. “For my ceremony dress, I had the pleasure of collaborating with the fantastic team at Valentino. They are the best at creating delicate, beautiful lace and details, and their Italian heritage kept the fashion and feel authentic to our venue.”In November 2017, tennis superstar Serena Williams wed Internet entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian in New Orleans, just two months after welcoming their first child together, daughter Alexis “Olympia” Ohanian, Jr. “Alexis really wanted to do New Orleans,” Williams told Vogue. “It’s his favorite city besides Brooklyn. It’s got a heavy European influence; it’s fun and has amazing food. He just loves the vibe. The venue—the Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans—was a decision we both made. Painting and art is something I’m really passionate about, so it just felt natural and different to do it at a contemporary art museum.” She wore an Alexander McQueen gown designed by Sarah Burton. In November of 2016, Girls actress Zosia Mamet and actor Evan Jonigkeit chose a rustic location for their wedding. The couple got married at the Cedar Lakes Estate in Port Jervis, New York, where their ceremony was held in an old theatre and, afterwards, guests rallied to “The Treehouse” and cuddled near fire pits for s’mores and and moonshine.Kardashian in Alexander McQueen. It was the wedding seen round the world: Before reality TV star and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian wed rapper Kanye West in Italy in 2014—their rehearsal dinner was held at Versailles in Paris beforehand, naturally—the couple graced the April issue of Vogue, where Kardashian embarked on a search for the perfect wedding gown, trying on dazzling designs by Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, and more.Alamuddin at a final fitting, with Oscar de la Renta (right) and head tailor Raffaele Ilardo, in the designer’s New York studio. Oscar de la Renta ivory beaded-tulle dress with Chantilly-lace appliqué.Ahead of her 2014 wedding to Hollywood A-lister George Clooney, human rights barrister Amal Alamuddin was photographed by Vogue during a final dress fitting with the late designer Oscar de la Renta, who designed her ivory beaded-tulle dress. “George and I wanted a wedding that was romantic and elegant, and I can’t imagine anyone more able than Oscar to capture this mood in a dress,” she said. “Meeting him made the design process all the more magical, as he is so warm and such a gentleman.”Meyers, in Ralph Lauren Black Label, and Ashe, in custom Carolina Herrera, walking down the aisle.Late night talk show host Seth Meyers wed Alexi Ashe, a human rights lawyer, in Martha’s Vineyard. Comedian and Saturday Night Live writer John Mulaney documented the affair for Vogue, where Ashe wore Carolina Herrera. In 2011, Lauren Bush and David Lauren tied the knot over the Labor Day weekend at his family’s 17,000-acre Double RL ranch in Ridgway, Colorado. Around 200 guests attended the affair and the couple, of course, both wore Ralph Lauren.Supermodel Cindy Crawford wed Rande Gerber in May of 1998. The bride wore a simple John Galliano slip dress, and the coupled walked the aisle barefoot (as pictured in Vogue’s December 2004 issue).

Dreaming of a destination wedding in Italy, whether you elope to Lake Como, host an intimate beach ceremony in Positano, or a chic celebration in Rome? Those fantasies may soon be a reality again. While couples planning to wed in 2020 and 2021 have had to adapt quickly to shifting guidelines and international regulations, finally there is some positive news for those eager to host ceremonies abroad. Prime Minister Mario Draghi’s office has declared that weddings can begin in Italy on June 15–with no guest limits. As America’s vaccine rollout continues and fully vaccinated tourists begin to eye international destinations, below, wedding planners and local vendors break down what the I Don’t Coparent With The Government Sunglasses T-Shirt in other words I will buy this latest guidelines mean for weddings in Italy.Generally speaking, Tracy Taylor Ward, owner and creative director of Tracy Taylor Ward Design, recommends booking a venue and all key vendors nine to 12 months before the desired wedding date, but for those who are newly engaged and want to host a late 2021 or 2022 wedding, Ward advises to keep in mind that venues and all vendors have been booking up quickly as many dates have been filled by postponements of 2020 weddings. For example, Rachel Birthistle, owner and CEO of The Lake Como Wedding Planner, who is based in Italy, notes that because wedding season at Lake Como runs from May to mid-October, many of her clients planning weddings in the first half of the season have postponed to next year, creating greater competition for openings in 2022.“For anybody considering booking a wedding in Italy for next year that’s maybe held off just to see what the situation’s like, it’s worth people understanding how busy it’s been with new business and how booked up we are,” says Birthistle, who says she has already had to close her calendar for September of next year due to being at maximum capacity, something she’s never done before.“So if anybody’s holding out there to wait and see and leave it to later, assuming that nobody’s booked yet, they’re wrong,” she says. Birthistle also notes that couples will want to keep in mind that standard minimum lead time for destination weddings is around three months, given that guests will have to book travel, hotels, etc.The most recent government guidelines indicate that “travelers from the United States must provide a negative molecular or rapid antigen test taken within the last 72 hours prior to entering.” As of May 17, American visitors arriving on a COVID-tested flight will not have to quarantine upon arrival; passengers on these flights will need to provide proof of a negative COVID test within 48 hours of boarding, along with other forms. All other American travelers will have to complete a 10-day quarantine followed by another negative COVID test. For return trips back to the U.S., all travelers will again need to provide negative COVID-19 test results from within three days of entrance into the country. As for wedding attendance specifically, according to the most recent protocols from the Italian Technical Scientific Committee (CTS), all travelers attending weddings must have a “green pass,” which certifies that the person is vaccinated, has recovered from COVID in the 3 months preceding the trip, or has a negative PCR test result 48 hours before the wedding. The E.U. is also expected to launch a digital COVID-19 certificate on July 1.Birthistle adds that currently wedding agencies or vendors are required to have a COVID manager in place for every 50 people in order to ensure green passes or negative COVID tests are being checked. She also predicts that official mask-wearing and social distancing rules may be more relaxed by September as rates of vaccination increase.Overall, Jan Bucher, general manager of Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, is feeling optimistic about current restrictions, a sentiment that is echoed among local vendors. “The vaccination campaign in Italy is moving quickly and the situation is getting better each day,” he says. “Our thought is that many of the international restrictions are going to end in the next two or three months: it can perhaps sound optimistic, but it’s the same opinion of governments and health institutions so we want to adhere to their expectations.”Once couples are ready to send out their Save the Dates, it’s important that they include all information that their guests should keep in mind when traveling to Italy in order to adhere to the most recent national and local guidelines for wedding guests coming from America.“It’s been a long time since anybody’s traveled in most cases,” Birthistle says. “People maybe just need a bit of hand holding and guiding through what’s required and actually how to do it. I think from the point of view of wedding couples and their guests just giving all of that information is really important.”Ward notes that it is also important to check the U.S. Department of State website to stay abreast of any travel advisories. “We anticipate this will change very soon but at the moment there is a Level 4 Travel Advisory for Italy and they are recommending that Americans avoid any nonessential travel to Italy at this time,” she says. Many vendors in Italy, like those elsewhere, have included COVID clauses in contracts that set terms and conditions relating to the pandemic, adding updates to their force majeure, date change, and liability clauses. However, Birthistle notes that such clauses are up to individual vendors, so it is important for couples to check ahead of time for them and learn specifics.“Many couples are prioritizing vendors who have policies in place that would allow them to postpone without rescheduling fees, something that was rarely top-of-mind pre-pandemic,” echoes Ward. “My best piece of advice is to practice clear communication and establish realistic expectations with all of your vendors from day one. Make sure you understand what their policies are for cancellation and postponements at the onset of booking them. Plus, if you need clarification or want something added to a contract, it never hurts to ask.”Bucher also recommends checking to see if vendors have online reviews and selecting ones that are renowned, professional, and up-to-date on the latest guidelines. “The economy of Italy is based mainly on small businesses, so it was hard for those working in destinations loved and sustained significantly by foreigners. The current situation was, paradoxically, an opportunity to be smarter and more creative in promoting their services: many businesses became more digital-oriented,” he says. “When choosing who to collaborate with, our suggestion is to look for honest opinions and reviews on the quality of their work and check their ability to adapt to change and last-minute unexpected issues.”
