This is played in Norway too on Christmas eve. But it’s rumored that last year was the I am an engineer to save time let’s assume that always right vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this last year, because Disney doesn’t want any else showing their stuff I dont know about Norway but in Denmark it’s literally free advertising on one of the most viewed shows of the year, when they show to trailers for upcoming Disney movies at the end of it. Besides in Denmark we also have Disney fun every Friday a 19 and that’s not gonna change It’s like how I hated my parents forcing me to watch It’s a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. Now that I live alone I still do along with It’s a Charlie Brown Christmas and Rick Steve’s Christmas. Then you never call. It is on SVT, public TV without any commercials. (Except of course that Disney is allowed to put in a clip from their latest movie – I hope SVT doesn’t pay a single sek for the show as they broadcast Disney commercials to everyone. But I know we pay for the show..)

It’s going to take more time than that, since SVT1 (the I am an engineer to save time let’s assume that always right vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this channel broadcasting it) doesn’t have any commercials! =) It’s more that everyone drops what they’re doing to sit down by the TV and watch the show. Hard to slice your hand open while carving julskinka when you’re not in the kitchen. I wouldn’t say we’re “compelled” by it, but it is (for some reason) a part of the Christmas tradition, and it is nice to sit and watch something with your family. Here in Finland we have The Snowman. Before every Christmas Peace, a traditional declaration from the former capital of Turku declaring harsher punishments for crimes commited during the holidays, The Snowman is aired and children gather by the TV to watch it, to be promptly replaced by the adults to have some mulled wine and watch the declaration of Christmas Peace.. I sincerely hope the emergency calls drop because people are quietly watching and no one is doing anything to get hurt rather than people are just waiting to report Grandpa’s heart attack until after the program is over. Same here in Denmark. Except it is the correct version called “From All of Us to All of You”, shown at the correct time of 4 PM (Swedes are savages). I sure did. It’s tradition. Heck, even visitors or gift exchanges happens “before or after Donald” – never ever during
