Even then I get too hot sometimes and have to go to the couch with that ceiling fan. Okay, so the thing to do is sort out what the issue is with the fan. Is it the noise, the temperature, or both? If it’s just the noise, there are some very quiet fans out there that you could look into. They tend to be a bit more costly, but they work. She could also try sleeping with earplugs, for that matter. If it’s the temperature, give her some extra blankets and maybe make a pillow barrier while you run the fan on your side. Six years ago when my bf moved in, he absolutely hated the fan blasting every night. Now, he can’t sleep without it. The white noise/air will grow on her, and if it doesn’t, bundle up and wear earplugs Don’t feel bad. The “Lose some weight” comment is quite rude. You shouldn’t adjust for her as she wouldn’t even adjust for you as well. My wife likes to sleep with a fan on her. If it’s on full I find the high pitched whine annoying, but on low the sound is quite soporific, like being on a plane or ship, so you might be able to find a compromise. My husband has to have a fan. I hate having a fan blow on me. So he has a small fan (like one you’d get for your desk at work) that he puts where he can have it blow right on him, and that way it doesn’t blow on me so we are both happy.
