The American media does a good job at demonizing countries by calling them “Regimes”, “Terrorists”, or “Dictators”. China has an almost exact political setup that the Houston Texans Abbey Road 25th Anniversary 1999 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt in addition I really love this US has, but they only refer to it with those words. I didn’t know that Chinese people elect their president every four years and have a parliament representing people from every corner of the country. Who is the official global arbiter on which world leaders count as dictators? I’ve heard him referred to as a dictator many times. Russian political system is pretty convoluted and arguably more democratic than in the US. Whoever tells tales about evil putin personally controlling everything is either delusional or arguing in bad faith. Putin purged a lot of more corrupt oligarchs but he still has to coordinate his actions with elites and military.

People don’t generally call him that because Russia remains a major economic (although declining) power so to call him a dictator would be alienating. It’s also why people don’t call President Xi a dictator even though the Houston Texans Abbey Road 25th Anniversary 1999 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt in addition I really love this CCP operates with impunity. People like Fidel Castro, Sadam Hussein and Hugo Chavez you might call dictators since their countries are at the margins of the geopolitical economy and there is less consequence in alienating them. I wouldn’t call them an economic power. Their GDP is less than the state of Texas. They don’t produce anything we buy from. Their export is oil, something thankfully we don’t buy from. The term dictator is not well defined anymore. It’s more of a political attack now. Yes, dictators do exist, but everyone’s definition varies.

As if other elections in other countries are not shady at all. “Democracy” is a horrible way to pick a leader, and elections are meaningless. You pick a leader based on his/her ability to gather popularity, and then give him/her a job that does not involve that ability. If countries are companies, would you pick a CEO based on his popularity among the Houston Texans Abbey Road 25th Anniversary 1999 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt in addition I really love this workers? And this haven’t even addressed the problem of money in elections. I cannot think of anyone else outside Russia who would consider him not to be an Authoritarian/dictator/oligarchy and not represent them as such. Why US senators are lifers? They all served until they rot, like Feinstein. Democracies are not perfect, their biggest weakness is that they are easily corrupted by money. President Putin technically was democratically elected, but he has the power of state media and finances of RF, and he is also a very smart guy. I do want to acknowledge the fact that he brought order to Russia and Russia became prosperous under his rule, so he is very popular. There is nobody in Russia, who can offer anything alternative to that guy. So running against that guy is going to be very tough. I wouldn’t believe everything the media tells us. We don’t know what goes on in russia and how the people really feel there. Our government feeds us propaganda just like other countries feed it to their people.

Putin is considered a dictator by the Houston Texans Abbey Road 25th Anniversary 1999 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt in addition I really love this west because he is pretty much unchallenged. As far as looking after the people generally goes, he does a pretty decent job of it. I am British but live in Russia. I returned back to the UK in 2014-2015 but couldn’t tolerate the lack of representation of the working class there and returned to Russia (I originally came from 2011-2014) edited I saw I got some downvotes for answering the question that doesn’t follow the “yes sir” model. Sorry, that’s just not me. I say things straight whether you like them or not. You should really only be able to downvote me if you have ANY relevant experience, such as life in Russia or any knowledge about people who live in Russia other than what is fed to you on the news or some random blogger. Otherwise, you’re just a joke with too much free time on your hands. Feel free to smash the downvote button 😉 – but leave a comment as to why 👍🏼

Were elections shady? There is no conclusive proof that they were. Sure, there is speculation and expert opinion but nothing conclusive Is the Houston Texans Abbey Road 25th Anniversary 1999 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt in addition I really love this system of governance authoritarian? No, not according to worldwide definitions. Laws still have to be passed by other government departments. Nuance and definitions go to die in buzz words and insults. The Austrian Painter and his followers? A good example that words like dictator are first and foremost a way of labelling people that you don’t like. Vladimir Vladimirovich is currently enjoying over 80% approval rate in Russia. Western leaders eat your heart out 🙂 Whatever. But but those surveys aren’t funded by western proxies! Surely they can’t be reliable or trust worthies! Those surveys surely have to be rigged! It’s impossible that a dictator can have any support everywhere! (Neglecting that a fair share of dictators around the world have at one point or another been supported and funded by the US). Dictatorship and authoritarianism lie on a spectrum. Russia has no meaningful opposition party and so is pretty far towards the despot side. I would also argue the US, which is currently in an election year where virtually everyone knew who the two leading nominees were going to be before the primaries were even held, and who at the same time happen to also be two of the least popular politicians in history, does not fall cleanly on the “democracy” side of such a spectrum. Though I think it is safe to say Russia is more authoritarian. I used to think he was a dictator but really he’s no different to most leaders of power like Bush, Biden, Obama, Kim Jong un etc they all do terrible acts against humanity and either it never comes out to the public domain I.E the assange helicopter killings of innocent people and probably countless others or they just use the news channels to justify their actions.
If Russia did that which they are basically in Ukraine they are a dictatorship but the Houston Texans Abbey Road 25th Anniversary 1999 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt in addition I really love this world is full of hypocrisy and depending on your agenda and propaganda it’s either justified or a dictatorship. All world powers are the same they all kill innocent civilians be it China, USA, Russia , India , Pakistan etc they all do it and are all corrupt so none can take the moral high ground. He’s a dictator because he is in direct opposition to the US. Just like the Russia billionaires are actually oligarchs because the US is at odds with Russia. He has been repeatedly elected, is the head of the most popular Russian political party, and is still considerably more popular than any other candidate for the Presidency.
I guess that’s more my question, is he really that popular in Russia or is his popularity based in fear? Why is Castro known as a dictator worldwide, but Putin is only considered one by “those that don’t like him”? He is still popular among uneducated Russians that rely on media messaging that he controls. And among assholes who think Russia should be an empire again, and are happy to send their sons off to try to kill people to do it. Well our government is taking note and now going after their political options. They are trying to throw Trump in jail for something that has been done by every sitting president and business man ever alive, that has been legal until Trump did it. Also they waited till he announced that he was running again for the Houston Texans Abbey Road 25th Anniversary 1999 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt in addition I really love this 2024 election, the very next day they started levying so many cases against him. All in hopes to stop him from running for president. We might as well be Russia now. This is election interference like no other. Plus keeping him off the ballot when he hasn’t been convicted of any crime. I’m not a republican, I’m not a Democrat, I’m not an independent. I’m an American who has watch my country become so corrupt, that we can’t even have a sham election, that gives you the illusion of choice.
