Many folks focus on sitting or breathing meditation, but a more expansive view is that meditation can be any variety of things. ADHD is caused by imbalance in neurotransmitters. Brain juices. Deficiancies in that stuff. Or, that’s what makes us different. And thats just what little we know. Most ppl with adhd go off drugs on their own after a while, so your doctor must have a damn good reason to intervene like that. And there is a bunch of different meds, so I expect that you’ve tried more than two, that you’ve tried the most popular one (vyvanse), and its not working. If that’s not the case, you’ve got malpractice on your hands. The doctors are, unfortunately, quite group-minded. Currently there is an overprescription problem. If you’re abusing the meds to do better at school, or if you’re a neglected child medicated because your environment is impovrished or bad, you can quit, and/or call child protection. But… you’re not. You can’t deal with just a smidge of solo meditation. That’s us baby.
