Doordash needs to fix their mapping system. There are a lot of people being very positive on here, but unfortunately I tend to think about the worst possibilities because I know there’s a lot of s***** dashers out there.. If they were on earn by time and they have a vehicle that is very good on fuel or an electric vehicle. They may have been trying to milk the order for as much money as they could because they weren’t getting orders.. If your car is fuel efficient enough, you can actually make money doing that, but it is a very bad practice and will end up backfiring on most of them hopefully I hope everyone else is right in this case and it’s just a new driver that freaked out and didn’t know what to do, but there’s no way to know for sure If this delivery was in California they would also be earning an extra $0.30 per mile while on the delivery which is even more incentive for people to play the system unfortunately

But I felt so bad I almost texted them to let them know what happen! Lol Why would you increase your tip for food that has now been sitting for an extra 20+ minutes because the person whose sole job is to drive your food to you didn’t pay attention? I view like this, if your conscious is telling you that you should and the dasher didn’t ask or complain about it, completed the order as expected then I would follow my conscious. The fact you came here asking seems like that your conscious is bothering you perhaps. So if it makes you feel better and you can afford to do so then sure why not? I mean the dasher certainly wouldn’t mind if you did that is for sure. If your gut (conscious) is telling you not to as the dasher is someway scamming or did something on purpose or otherwise that was beyond a common mistake then don’t. IMO it is totally up to you and how you will feel if you do or if you don’t. I delivered pizzas in college and I would never expect more for such incompetence. I would just hope they’re not pissed and be grateful if they still tip. Done similar (not nearly this egregious) and was more pissed that it got in the way of other potential deliveries during my shift.
