I find people who have great memories tend to excel quite easily in the Happiness Is Being A Gigi Flower Gigi T-Shirt it is in the first place but acedemic world and are able to get great marks and jobs for it. But if you ask them something they can’t memorize and they’re lost. I did IT in school and it was more about concepts and understanding. How to take what they taught you and apply it to a different problem. So many other students tried to memorize how to solve specific problems, or how to code specific things instead of understanding how it works. So when the tests changes things around they got lost. It was really eye opening to me. I see this a lot on Reddit and people post very stupid math questions, mainly because it’s being taught through memorization instead of teaching concepts and understanding. I remember one where the question was expand 5×3 and solve. The kid put 3+3+3+3+3 = 15 and got it wrong, since the right answer is 5+5+5 = 15. I had a similar issue taking HS programming classes, one teacher taught from the book and if your code didn’t match the teacher code you lost marks. Another teacher took the time to learn programming properly, would see we managed to do the assignment differently then the teachers book, then would ask us to explain our code which while it did what was asked he didn’t understand it properly. He was often learning more from the students then us learning from him.

Even in the Happiness Is Being A Gigi Flower Gigi T-Shirt it is in the first place but corporate world I see so many people lose their shit when things change, because they memorized the process so when there is a small change they are completely lost. To me I can break down a process remove the step that is changed, slot in the new step, rebuild the process and then i’m good to go. Other people need to have everything explained to them again right from the beginning step by step even if 1 step changed. The difference between book smart and street smart. Getting good grades doesn’t guarantee the person function well in everyday life. My husband is super intelligent and what he does for a living is mostly lost on me. He’s in a highly specialized field. I greatly admire his intelligence. But sometimes I wonder how he manages to put a shirt on some days. Me, I’m good with my hands, have social skills, am creative and have a vivid imagination. I can’t wake up at a decent time or be consistent in my life. So there’s that. Thankfully when him and I combine our powers we make up a whole brain. My friend dated the valedictorian of his school, she had no common sense or common knowledge. Asked the dumbest questions. School grades don’t always translate into actually being intelligent.
