But beyond that Event Horizon boundary, a black hole just has normal gravitational effects that vary depending on its mass. Think of how the earth is basically “escaping” the pull of the sun by orbiting in a circle. We are falling towards the sun, but thankfully enough sideways momentum that we wind up in orbit instead of flying straight in.
