Maximize those profits. The rare one where you treated like an actual guest is soooo amazing. These are not cheap listings! the reasoning is that if they photograph well, you won’t find out they’re cheap/terrible until after you’ve booked and checked in. “the furniture is cheap” is not grounds for a refund after that fact, so they get your money. whining about cheap furniture when the listing is as described won’t turn many future guests away, and unlike a hotel chain, most hosts don’t care about repeat business. they just want to rope the next stranger in. Profit profit profit. Like hose flippers, the bare minimum. Is the place clean at least? That is another way they max the profits. Charge cleaning and do nothing. Maybe look for super hosts? I’ve gotten pretty lucky that most of the places I’ve rented were extremely comfortable and well appointed. Maybe one that had some older furniture, but the listing and reviews were pretty clear about it. Main reason is property damage. Some guests will not care if the furniture or linen gets damaged and treat it as disposable.
