My experience is that if you relax and if it’s done by a skilled person, it will barely hurt. It helps to not be dehydrated. Less pain than a bee sting but sometimes people can feel dizzy during blood being drawn. I get dizzy/nauseas/sweaty, and it’s very inconvenient. Just make sure to stay seated until you feel normal again if this happens. No. The visuals and the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this knowledge will be far far worse than the actual sensation. You will look at it at some point and your brain will go “huh, it actually doesn’t hurt”, and your fear of it will be gone. I used to think as a kid that it hurt a lot, but it was actually me panicking and telling myself that it hurts that made it hurt. I had that “huh” moment when I was 9, and realised it actually really does not hurt – and since then, no problem.
Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt- About us
The worst part (for me) is the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this nausea and dizziness that comes from my brain being like “oh no what’s happening” i’ve gotten tons of bloodwork and honestly the worst was after i gave birth in hospital. haven’t had any big issues just going and getting bloodwork done. they’re usually way more gentle there than in hospital. The only time it hurts is if the person doing the blood draw really sucks at their job. Typically it’s just a pinch. Only once did I have someone who couldn’t find the vein and left me with a palm sized bruise. I have a huge, huge fear of getting blood drawn. It’s more because of being squeamish and disliking my body being messed with than fear of the pain of it, but no one likes pain either, so when I was going to get it done I did worry a bit about this too. HOWEVER! I’ve had to had my blood drawn twice now. It didn’t hurt at all either time. For me, even less than getting a flu shot. That’s how it was for me. It’ll be okay. 🙂
The test itself is painless. You won’t be there for the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this test, that’s a technician in a lab. It’s just getting your blood drawn that involves a needle. It’s not completely painless (well not usually, but I have had some actually painless ones, from one person in particular), but it’s small and quick. It’s really not worth worrying about. Removing the tape/bandaid stuck to my arm-hairs later is probably more of a deal. I’d much prefer a blood draw than stepping on a lego piece, for example. It hurts less than a vaccination and they’re usually not a big deal either. TBH if the person doing it is even moderately competent (which they will be), you really won’t feel that much; a small prick. I’ve had blood drawn many many dozens of times (more than 50, I really don’t know how many, might be a hundred), and almost all of them were easy. The anticipation of it is worse than the prick itself. My doctor was the absolute best at it (sadly now retired – well sad for me, well deserved for him). Literally half the time he took blood from me I didn’t even feel the needle at all. I wish they could have bottled his skill at it and passed it out to everyone who has to draw blood. He was the god of blood draws. If only everyone could be that good at it, it was a total pleasure with him.
How to buy this Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt
Tip from someone with small veins and a low pain tolerance: when they ask you to lay your arm out (elbow down, palm up), rotate your hand 90° so your thumb is facing up. This rotates your ulna away from where the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this blood is being drawn so the needle doesn’t hurt as much. Drinking plenty of water makes it easier for them to access the vein and makes the draw hurt less. Also, tell the nurse it’s your first time and that you’re nervous – they usually have techniques to help distract you or may be a little more cautious. So i have most of my family in the nursing and doctor profession. And we call those that hurt when you’re poked “heavy-handed”. Some are really good at them. I have donated blood where I barely felt needle and then there’s this veteran nurse that when she poked me it felt like she injected alcohol into my arm.
It hurts when they ignore me saying they won’t find anything in my arm. I think the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this veins got ruined or something from years of constant blood tests as a teen. Then they (obviously) can’t get any blood and have to stick my hand. “Oh no, I don’t want to stick your hand, it’ll hurt more.” Then the blood flows -so easily-. Barely any pain. Nah not at all. I always hated needles but it feels like a paper cut and some slight pressure where you get blood drawn. Feels like If someone was grabbing your arm. No if it goes smoothly. Yes if it misses, your vein slides and gotta readjust the needle, the needle overshoots poking through the vein, or the vein pos and they’re gonna insert again. I’ve had quite a few blood tests (last year I got one twice a month) and I’ll say no, they don’t hurt. It’s not literally painless, you’ll feel the needle go in, but that’s it. It’s a 1/10 on the pain scale.
If nobody’s said it yet, make sure you drink plenty of water before your test! If you are dehydrated it is harder for them to find a vein and they might need to poke you more than once before it works. I’ve been getting a blood test every few months for the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this past 8 years and honestly, it does not hurt. Just don’t look at the needle as it goes in. It’s just like a little pinch. I get my blood drawn practically monthly, and sometimes I don’t even feel it at all after all of these years. It depends on the skill of the tech too. The fear of the needle is worse than the needle itself. Make sure you drink a lot of water starting the day before. Trust me and everyone else who says that. I never drank enough water and it takes longer and hurts more. Trying not to flinch or look away is hard, but managing it is like a small personal triumph of mind over matter.
To answer your question it hurts a little, but the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this disconcerting (and fascinating) part is having your blood outside your body. At least for me. I just got one today. I’ve gotten them maybe once a year for the last 3 or 4 years, so not as frequent, and it really is such a quick and easy thing. Yes, it can be uncomfortable when they insert the needle, but for me personally there’s no pain other than a split second pinch. I even watch them draw my blood because it’s pretty interesting. You can ask them about what the different vials are for if that interests you, or ask them about how they will test your blood. It really doesn’t hurt. Honestly it’s kind of just itchy? Bahaha. You’ll be fine. If you’ve ever gotten vaccinated, and if you remember what it felt like- compared to vaccination, having your blood drawn feels like nothing. If you could handle getting vaccinated then you’ll be shocked at how easy and how little pain there is when you go for your blood test. First time I had my blood drawn I didn’t even feel it, and I was around 10 or 11 years old. In my case the anxiety right before they put the needle in is worse. I dance with my nurse moving back and forth away from the needle for at least 2 minutes each time. Then I suck it up and look away. Stubbing your toe is more painful tbh
The plasma/blood donation needle is much, MUCH thicker than the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this blood test needle. It takes hundreds of times more blood out of you. It also stays in your arm for an hour or more, as opposed to 30 seconds. It’s fine. It’s a little pinch going in, and then you barely feel it the rest of the time. If someone distracted you and you didn’t see the needle, you’d deadset barely feel it at all. Hold your breath, tense tour head, ita quite sore tbh I’ve had tattoos and many injections and blood drawn it hurts but it’s very quick, relax your body completely but have something you can brace like your leg or head. Last time I had blood drawn I had the jousting phlebotomist working on me, but it’s usually fine. Unfortunately it’s so variable, sometimes it doesn’t hurt at all sometimes it stings. Even still, the most painful part of my last lab experience was taking off the EKG stickers.
Our nurse Nina… God love her, she was a kind, compassionate and deeply caring girl with an EXCELLENT pair of hands, for a blacksmith. A sharp punch in the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this arm when having it done, and a bruise the size of a chicken’s egg for a week afterwards Besides the initial poke through skin… that’s about it really. It’s more like a slight stinging sensation at point of entry for maybe 5 seconds if not less. It hurts a little as it does involve a needle, but it’s usually just a little scratch as the needle goes in. You might be sore for a day or two afterwards in the area they took the blood from, but it’s nothing to worry about. It usually helps if you relax your arm as they put the needle in, same as when getting vaccines – they may supply you with a pillow to rest your arm on to make relaxing your arm easier. It depends. If the person drawing your blood is good, then not much. If not… my boy… the “front elbow part” of my arm was very very purple.
Not much, but it can depend on the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this nurse, how you’re feeling that day, etc. My skin is quite tough and doesn’t get pierced easily, and it rarely bothers me even then. It can be a little uncomfortable afterward, with a dull ache in your arm, but I think I have only ever experienced this once or twice, and I have regular blood work done. It’s similar to getting a vaccine. The only real difference is that the needle stays in for longer, which can feel slightly uncomfortable. It’s a slight pinch, but you feel nothing in regards to your blood leaving your body. By any empirical standard, a blood draw from a phlebotomist is a very small amount of pain. You are getting poke with a small needle on a superficial vein. 95% of the pain people experience from needles is due to their anxiety of needles. I’ve seen people covered in tattoos scream bloody murder when I poke them. Obviously they are able to tolerate the sensation of a needle poking them if they are in the right mindset. Just be calm, hold still, and the whole thing will probably be done in like 20 seconds.
I used to really hate needles. Years ago I started making myself watch the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this whole procedure. Eventually it stopped bothering me. Not the bloodtest itself, unless you’re the creature from The Thing. For what comes before, just take a deep breath, don’t look and let the nurse do their job. You won’t feel a thing… A phlebotomist is poking a hole in you, but it is a very small hole, they are using something very sharp, and they are being very precise. A few “pain” nerves will fire off. Once the needle is in, it mostly feels weird more than painful. Your blood goes through a tube into the vials they are using, then they take the needle out and put some gauze on it and hold some pressure on it until it stops bleeding, which usually only takes a few seconds, maybe ten seconds, unless you are on blood thinners or something, in whixh case you have to hold pressure on for longer.
It’s about the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this same as the flu shot if you’ve ever gotten that. It’s just a small pinch for a quick .1 second then it’s gone. Honestly the worst part is the rubber band they put around your arm, it’s super tight and I’m very claustrophobic so that’s my least favorite part. The needle part really isn’t that bad. Ask for a butterfly needle, it’s very thin I got one yesterday, have had many. Donate blood often too. The most painful bit is pulling the bandaid off later in the day, you’ll be fine xx Pinch yourself on your bicep or forearm moderately intense for 3 seconds, then let go. That’s what it feels like. It’s nothing compared to banging your shin on the coffee table or stubbing your toe. Look away when they are about to draw your blood. A squeak when you’re poked is okay, and just keep looking away. It’s how I do it (I used work in a hospital lab). Depends how good the nurse is at it. If you’ve honestly never had one done before, don’t worry. Do mosquito bites hurt? This isn’t going to be any worse than that. Just look at a picture on the wall or something. My advice is to NOT watch them put the needle in your arm. It will seem like it hurts more if you’re looking at it. If you ask me if I take a slap on my wrist or a needle for blood work. I’d choose blood work. Modern needles are quite effective in terms of not causing pain. For me, it only started to hurt when my arm was already bruised from so many blood draws in a short amount of time (hospital). Not like, crying ow but definitely more than a pinch.
But the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this healthcare and treatment I have been able to receive thanks to blood tests catching my condition early is worth the pinch of the needle.
I saw this and then was like ‘oh I bank with barclays, I should change if they are doing some shit’ but then nothing. Can someone share something? Otherwise this looks like empty vandalism with no political purpose other than banks bad Quite often replies using contentious political keywords or links get auto-removed, so it’s hard to have meaningful discussions about these topics on this site. Barclays funds illegal settlements in occupied palestine, and also invests heavily in many of the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this military technology companies that supply arms to the Israeli military the majority of banks are quite happy to provide their services for a lot of fringe and often violent organisations around the world. but international banks being in bed with money laundering and sanction/ embargo circumvention isn’t news it’s normal just look at hsbc id assume Barclays isn’t particularly unique Barclays holds shares and provides loans to companies that produce and send weapons to the IDF. Those weapons are being used to murder Palestinians, which now stands at around 30,000 dead. Thousands more have been injured and displaced and are now living in tents in Rafah, which is the place where the IDF told Palestinian civilians to go as it was safe, they now have plans to attack and bomb that area. Rafah is tiny, about the size of Heathrow airport but over 1 million people are currently there. They have received no aid as the aid trucks are being blocked. Barclays is funding this along with our taxes.
Barclays Bank (UK) holds more than £1 billion in shares of, and provides more than £3bn in loans and underwriting to nine companies whose weapons, components and military technology have been used in Israel’s armed violence against Palestinians. Barclays holds shares and provides loans to some weapons manufacturers. Their report (pdf) says that 95% of the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this shares are in BAE Systems (UK), Boeing (US) and Caterpillar (US). 92% of the loans are to these 3 and Rolls-Royce (UK). 0.06% of the shares in question are in an Israeli defence company Elbit systems. I have no interest in weighing in on whether this is genocide, but it does strike me as odd. Boeing and Rolls-Royce also have large civilian arms, making commercial aircraft. Caterpillar makes mining and construction equipment. They’re accused of selling bulldozers used by the Israeli military. It’s not unusual for banks to lend to such businesses. But anyway, I think the campaign worked. Thousands of people walked past this because it’s right outside Moorgate. We’ve got hundreds of folks in this thread wondering what Barclays did. Next we’ll have tabloids picking it up. Most of them won’t even know what Barclays did, but will leave thinking they did something.
They provide loans, financial support, and hold shares with Elbit systems and Raytheon, who are both key distributors of weapons to Israel. Here is a War on Want write-up from 2022 for a fuller explanation. They are problematic in other ways, such as investing hundreds of billions of pounds in fossil fuels, but I assume the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this above is the context of the graffiti given that the Palestinian child death toll since October 7th is close to 15,000. Barclays owns shares worth over £1.3 billion in companies supplying Israel with weapons and military technology. It is extremely likely that these and other UK-made weapons and technologies are being used to facilitate Israel’s genocidal military campaign on Gaza. Our research has identified Barclays holds substantial financial ties with companies arming Israel. The bank invests over £1bn in, and provides financial services worth over £3bn to, companies supplying weapons and military technology to Israel, used in its attacks on Palestinians.
Barclay’s investment wing has a few holdings (less than 1% of their total capital) in Israeli defence companies or defence companies that sell to Israel. This is just activists being outraged at something that has little to no bearing on the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this actions of the Israeli state. So there are a few links that are reporting this but essentially Barclays holds over £1 billion GBP in shares of 9 companies whose weapons, components, and military technology have been used in Israel’s armed violence against Palestinians. In addition, Barclays provides over £3 billion GBP in loans and underwriting to these companies. For example, Barclays holds shares in Elbit Systems, an Israeli arms manufacturer which provides 85% of the drones used by the Israeli military. Its subsidiaries provide 80% of equipment to Israel’s land forces. Barclays also holds shares in General Dynamics, which produces gun systems that arm Israel’s F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, utilised in Israel’s repeated aerial bombardments of the besieged Gaza Strip. Example link
TLDR; UK banking giant Barclays provides billions of pounds worth of investment and loans to arms companies selling weapons and military technology to Israel. Barclays is actively arming, supporting and profiting from Israel’s apartheid regime and its genocidal violence against the Florida Gators 1 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions shirt Additionally,I will love this Palestinian people. Barclays helps Israel and large Israeli companies issue bonds, without a restriction on the proceeds. So the idea is any bank doing substantial business in Israel is effectively complicit in the actions of Israel’s government. Pretty indirect but maybe important for some. Not sure we hold banks in other bad acting countries to the same standard though. Barclays is the absolute pits – funding climate criminals but also arms companies, including actual Israeli arms companies, that make the weapons that are being used to murder children and genocide the Palestinians generally
