I take off my mask out in the Fisherman herefishyfishyfishy fishing classic shirt and by the same token and open (not crowded), but when I enter a building, I put it on. My college department and professors are very serious about covid and putting masks are required for their classes. Because of covid? The pandemic that is still very much a thing? To not potentially catch and spread a virus and even die? I know that there’s still a possibility that I might become a un-symptomatic carrier, so I still use it on places where there’s a lot of people, or if I’m going to talk to someone directly. Yes if I feel under the weather and feels like appropriate in place like gathering with non acquaintance/crowded place Yes. I work in food, so you can imagine my paranoia of having to deal with so many individual people (most of whom are now unmasked) and possibly getting something from them. A bit of flu is going around as well. I cannot miss work due to finances. Also lost my ability to fake smile, so it helps cover my rage. I had been very lax about wearing a mask after the mask mandates dropped away, but then I got covid. Now, even though I’m fully vaccinated and was when I got covid, I wear a mask whenever I am in public to not only protect myself but to help others around me feel more safe. I am (when inside in public spaces, or when lots of people are around), I am immune compromised because of some meds I take and I’ve found that masks keep me not only safe from Covid, but from stuff like the Cold and Flu which has been amazing for me. For the last 2 years I’ve not gotten my annual flu, and when I get sick, I get sick as a dog for at least a week, so that reason alone is good enough for me to keep up my defenses.

I do try to wear one at places where I know it will be quite crowded but in general (coffee shops, small stores) I don’t wear one. Yes, there’s still a global pandemic killing lots of people every day. And I don’t give a flying fuck whether other people care if I wear it or not… Depends. I’m probably gonna wear them forever on buses/airplanes and to doctor appointments.
