Malleable sure, but gold has an insanely high melting point. If your tea is anywhere near as hot as those blowtorches, you’re making tea wrong. Sir the fact that the soldering is made with the sale material as the teapot and dosen’t leave a visible solder mark prove that it is gold also the way they reheat the gold and then qwenche it you would not do that to brass it’s not a way to make it more maleable It’s gold. It’s common to mix it with 20% brass to keep the gold vibrancy but give it some strength. Roman era gold armor and jewelry were all like that. Not that badly ima be honnest gold desent react to basicly anything witch would make it a perfect food safe material there might be some oxidation from the flame to boil the water but it’s caused by othe material in the aloy not the gold i bet this isn’t completely pure gold, it looks a bit harder than normal gold. it’s probably alloyed with something else to make it a bit less easily malleable. ofc gold is still harder than people think, but the amount of force this guy seems to be putting in makes me think this isn’t just pure gold on it’s own. even if it is, you’d need to be able to get it near red hot to be able to do any real damage. if you have an electric stove, there’s no way this would get damaged. it might get damaged on a gas stove with high heat, but even then it’d probably have to be maxxed out for a while before it starts melting. and with the thinness of this metal, i doubt it’d hold onto the heat long enough to do that, especially if there’s water in it. tbh gold would be the perfect material to make dishware out of if it weren’t so damn expensive. it’s malleability and stability make it quite attractive. no more broken plates, no more broken fork prongs, no worry of contamination, no worry of bacterial/mold growth (as long as you dont leave shit in it), and plus it just looks good lol. Too bad it’s one of the more expensive materials in the world.

Still looking for my holy grail of perfect dishware but also I’m dumb and didn’t think about how it being metal means it fails another criteria I have which is it doesn’t get scalding to the Espresso Yourself Accelerate Later Cars and Coffee T-Shirt and by the same token and touch (usually in the microwave). from that song it felt like it wanted to go to nothing else matters by metallica but it meandered off and did its own thing But it’s not gold. It’s brass, and brass is cheap. That’s good craftsmanship though and it still take a lot of time to make. If it was sold at the work and material cost I guess this would be around a hundred dollars, but I have not clue about the cost of skilled labour in China. But this is a luxury good so the price is more about what are people willing to pay for a it than what it cost to make.
