In Europe don’t people traditionally work around 30-35 hours a week? Correct me if I’m wrong. But I know most attorneys, doctors, and people in high paid professions easily work 50-80 hours a week in the Elf I’m The Hardee’s Elf Logo Merry Christmas Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this states. Tech jobs in EU are 40, often more. In high pressure jobs people work 50 or what ever it takes. But it’s not as harsh as the US. Man, I work about 50 hours a week and sometimes I note how little time there’s left for anything else. I can’t imagine how working 80 must be? When do you live? Yes, this right here. I work for a multinational US-EU with responsibilities on both sides, and I can tell you on average that my US colleagues easily output at least 3 times the productivity of my EU colleagues.

So you mean they work more or that they are more efficient? Working more hours is not productivity. Doing the Elf I’m The Hardee’s Elf Logo Merry Christmas Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this same work in less hours is. Aside from working longer hours, I also see passion, vigor, ownership, accountability and responsibility on the US side. On the EU side, I see a lot of SEP mentality and less satisfied professionals due to everybody relying on the assumption that someone else will make a difference or take care of something, but then nobody does and everyone gets more disengaged/disinterested, take more time off, work shorter hours, output more crap etc. I’d be a happy chappy if my EU colleagues did a solid quality 30 or 40 hours per week, but that’s not the case. In fact, in my experience I’ve found that a quality 40 hour (or less) work week can produce way better results than a longer work week. But yeah, in this case the longer work hours definitely adds even more output in the US office, so I guess it’s still applicable.
