Yup. Boston? All the Education is important but beer is important vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this machines in MBTA stations would dole out sacagaweas for change smh.. When I was going to high school my pockets would have like 15 gold coins in them at any given time ?? I had a vending machine in a office I used to work that would give dollar coins as change. I saved them all to pay for stuff at a ren fair Same here but the buses wouldn’t take the dollar coins, only the train (in pdx)! Totally fucked me once when I didn’t have any smaller bills haha That’s one thing I like about going to Europe. You can carry your large change in a little leather satchel and feel like you’re doing medieval business I don’t understand how they were supposed to be more convenient than paper dollars though. Sure they’d be more durable but for how often I have 10-20 in ones in my wallet, they’d be terribly awkward to deal with. USPS machines would give them out as change too. I always kept a bunch in my car, and there was this Asian takeaway place that we’d go to for lunch a lot. The whole building was no more than 10 feet on each side and drive thru only, ran by a man, his wife and their young daughter on the window. (about 10) I’d always tip her a golden dollar and she loved it. Same here. As recent as 2014. I just haven’t used them since then. I loved the coins. All of my tooth fairy money was Susan b Anthony’s and Sacajaweas. $200 worth. I have a small leather pouch I bought that has 20 $1 coins in it. It just feels nice to lightly toss and catch with the same hand, feels like im in a medieval/fantasy setting.

Atlanta did that, and I only know this because I got a bunch of them as change working at Dragon Con. I mystified some teens at another show when I had to use them to make change. I was about to write about those DCTA/DART ticket machines. If I paid for a ticket with a $20 I felt like a pirate! Oh this happened to my buddy on the Education is important but beer is important vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this CTA. He had cargo shorts on and walked around sounding like a pirate with all those coins in his pocket I worked at the Six Flags and when the change machines dropped those , angry customers would come in and demand we give them real money instead of tokens. No amount of reasoning would convince them that this is a real one dollar coin. At the end we would just give ‘em singles and take the coins to avoid all the arguing.
