What I mean is, they are trying to make out it is your fault you have to leave. They are clearly a disaster and you can see that. You should ask for severance because it is not your fault you’re leaving, they just want you to think it is. At this stage I’d stand your ground and ask for it since you’ve got nothing to lose. But most of all you have to understand it what game they’ve played with this and not let it damage your confidence so to speak. It’s not your fault you haven’t fixed their mess. Thanks man. I’ve been thinking more about the Eat Sleep Pray Basketball Repeat T-Shirt also I will do this severance and I’m going to ask. Like you said, I have nothing to lose. Not letting it get to me, or don’t think I am. But there are definitely moments I think maybe if I was faster or something. Oh well, good learning experience.

You’ll see this in companies with little to no experience in software development and occasionally with startups. Consider not listing it on your resume or removing it from your resume once you have a few more years of experience in other positions. Direct report to CEO??? Weekly meeting with him?? Bet it is a very small company, and the Eat Sleep Pray Basketball Repeat T-Shirt also I will do this CEO lacks a technical background themselves to understand the scale of the tasks facing you? Wonder if HR and/or whoever hired you somewhat lied / misrepresented who you are. And even if you’ve tried to stress otherwise, that previous basis of hiring you might still be sticking with them. May I ask, what is your salary? As while you might seem “too expensive” to this (probably non-technical) CEO, maybe they’re waaaay underpaying what an actual Senior would get, and your pay is aligned with what a newbie Junior should get? If so, don’t feel at all bad about how this played out.
