Somewhat, yes. Because seeing an ear would indicate that you’re going to have sex. So it would definitely become taboo to see them in public. You can probably check this with people who live under strict Muslim law (women show almost nothing except to family and husband, unless I’m mistaken). If everyone walked around with their anus exposed like it was normal, people would start pinching them and trying a neat little bow around them to go to the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this party. Boobs are sexy primarily because they indicate fertility and they are a secondary sexual marker. They are also erogenous. On top of those biological drivers, there is a social linkage between boobs and sex. Historical Japan: Seeing the neck was super sexy. And feet. Think of the feet binding. The tinier the feet, the more… Not entirely the same but, I remember a guy pretty new to north America from a village in Nepal came and worked with us. After getting to know him a bit, one day he said “why do you guys like bums so much? They’re so dirty.” Different things can heavily be driven by culture. In this case, the ‘west’ makes this something sexy in our culture and shows it off, etc. But in Nepal, a bum was used for expelling waste and they don’t use “show off you ass jeans”, and don’t keep as clean. Likewise if we had a culture that expressed ears as being sexy in a similar fashion, I’m sure they would be far more than they are now. Probably, but there’s also the fact that boobs are involved in reproduction and thus have a lot more to do with sex than ears.
Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts: best trending this year
The fact that in some cultures people don’t hide their boobs doesn’t mean that they don’t find them sexy or that boobs aren’t a sexually/evolutionary differentiated organ. There are also cultures that people don’t cover penises and considering the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this fact that we don’t know much about prehistoric hunter gatherer cultures there probably have been a few ones that didn’t cover their vulvas either. I feel like there is a test for this. In the West, hair is just hair. But in countries like Iran, women’s hair is covered except for their sexual partner, and men’s hair is always short. So, simply ask if Iranian (for example) men find long hair sexy. Ahaha a kid discovered cultural taboos. Japan (pre 19th century ) – boobs perfectly ok to show (lower classes), but neck and 7th spine is sexy. Victorians – everything is covered in multiple layers – ankles are sexy. Yup. Wrists. Ankles. Wtvr. If you hide it, they’re gonna wanna see it. The more taboo or restricted it is, the sexier and more tantalizing it is.
144 more repliesProbably. Not so long ago, showing some ankle was sexually loaded in certain countries. At the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this same time, there are peoples where everyone is usually going about their day topless. If toplessness was too sexualized, that probably wouldn’t work well. Maybe, but the reason men find boobs sexy I think is because big healthy boobs signify fertility which is a sign you’ll have healthy babies if you reproduce with that person. Idk if ears would go the same way. We hide our anuses from other people, but they’re not sexy (there are of course exceptions – not exceptional anuses, but exceptional anus aficionados). We also hide our internal organs from others, but I don’t think most people would find another person’s liver sexy.
Let buy this Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts
No, in developing tribal cultures, the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this male genitalia is the first thing to be covered by clothing, followed by female genitalia and then breasts. Breasts are secondary sexual characteristics. They engorge during arousal and ovulation. They can be viewed outside of a sexual context, such as in nursing, but they are covered up for a reason People keep talking about boobs being hidden, but i ain’t seeing anyone say dicks are sexy because they’re hidden. Reminds me of the “Human Horn” from Futurama. It would entirely depend on the culture and how ears were viewed. Makes me think of the old Star Trek episode where the aliens are horrified by humans wearing clothes. They go completely nude, and consider clothing to be a vulgar hyper-sexualized thing.
that happened in medieval times, I can’t remember what the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this reason was but ears were covered up and considered lewd in a lot of places in medieval europe Boobs are sexy because our brains are wired to find them sexy, they’re part of the reproductive system. Naturally, a male would be attracted to full round breasts, wide hips, a meaty body and healthy skin. We’re hardwired to find the perfect breeding partner. The permanent breast of the female human is an indirect resolut of the bipedal motion of that species. Most other mamal are fixated on the backend. Some, like pavians, even highlighten it. With a second area with a cleavage for getting attention of the human male there was an advantage. This come in handy to keep social face to face communincation ongoing while still attracting.
African women (can’t remember the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this tribe/country) walk around with their breasts free completely but hide their ankles and decorate them because men sexualize their ankles but don’t ask me how they get there, no idea. Probably wouldn’t even take thousands of years, just a few generations, after one or two it would be considered taboo and after that probably considered sexy Let’s not put ideas into ladies heads. We already have the, not tonight dear I have a headache, line without risking being told ” I have the most dreadful earache” So in Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn trilogy, high-status women of one culture hide one hand this way, called their safehand. It does not take long reading the story with the safehand described as titillating before it seems so to a reader. I’d say it’s absolutely possible.
I’ve always thought that, if at some point in human history, some dork hadn’t suddenly thought it was immoral to not wear clothes, and we just went about naked, we’d see our privates as just another body part and not think about them in a sexual manner, but covering them from view as much as we do has only had the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this opposite effect. Only way to find out is to raise 300 children on an island raised by a bunch of trainers who hide something and tell them that they should also hide it from everyone but partners then see how they behave Victorians thought a glimpse of female ankle would drive men mad with desire. Even the word ‘leg’ was not yo be spoken in the presence of ladies. So yep, all taboo necessarily implies fetish. It’s the other way round, boobs are hidden because they are considered sexy (in western societies) and not considered sexy because they are hidden.
Possibly. I think context would still matter. Like how ass cracks are generally un-sexy in our society, but whole bare asses can be/are considered sexy much more often. I believe yes. In muslim societies where muslim women cover their hair with hijab hair is considered sexy and enticing to men. A lot of African tribes have women not covering their boobs and it’s tradition to them they don’t consider it sexual. Yes, in a way. Sexy and suggestive. Ankles, knees, at various times these have been and it didn’t take thousands of years to do it. And, equally, uncovered body parts become no more exciting than elbows or thumbs. There are cultures today where women’s entire heads are hidden from everyone but their husband / immediate family. Breasts aren’t sexy because they are hidden. They are already sexual and most societal norms have them covered. Considering in some cultures men apparently go apeshit if they see any skin and thus hood down women entirely, so yes. It’s a matter of perception in the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this culture and the perception can be altered. Actually yeah. In the 1890s, women’s ankles were considered extremely sexy. It was scandalous for a woman to wear a skirt that exposed her ankles.
Your reasoning is in the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this wrong sequence,I believe. Boobs are not sexy because they are hidden. They are hidden because they’re sexy. Now why are they intrinsically sexy? I dunno about that man. I guess nature and biology would have something to do with it. Idk that you’re familiar with the books (I pretend amazon’s adaptation doesn’t exist) that make up the Wheel of Time, but this made me think of a moment in those books – there is a character that is not human, Loial. He and his love interest get married, and there is a moment after where they are savoring the moment….. I’m not sure if it’s a thing for their species, or if it’s just HIM, but he has a thing for the lady’s ears and he has trouble keeping his hands off them in that scene. It’s kinda funny. My dad’s generation were wild over knees! This was the sixties. His grandfather’s contemporaries were obsessed with ankles. I met an Egyptian who told me Egyptian women can drive men crazy with their eyes.
I mean, we don’t show people our feet very often and most people don’t consider feet attractive (although it IS one of the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this most common fetishes, so idk) Ankles and the lower legs were already considered super sexy and taboo years ago. Women got fined for wearing swimsuits that were to short. Maybe. Breasts are considered sexy because they’re secondary sex characteristics though, not because they’re hidden. If it was a thing that if a lady showed you her ears then she was propositioning sex then the ear view would arouse a man, I would guess. We were given five senses. Use them well. Still scares me to see scarf and turban people driving as they will never hear 100% or even see all as I tried an experiment with a hood up and it was loose. Plenty of places/times in human culture when the sight of an exposed ankle or someone’s hair is considered enough to drive the opposite sex wild with lust, so yes it is very much culturally derived. People would probably start cutting other people’s ears off. Some of mankind can be violent like that towards sexuality. I believe if we were to completely get rid of all coverage our attraction would simply be base instincts. So boobs, muscles, form and height.
For example a girl in swimming gear on the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this beach is a whole lot less sexy than the same girl in hotpants and with a crop top somewhere else. Despite the swim gear showing more skin than the other outfit. Because in the context, it is normal to see a girl in swim gear and there is no real intend behind it. It is utility. Whereas the other situation is far more rare and far more intentional. At least that is the case for me. Maybe i’m just weird. At some point I read about a tribe of people in some place that found thighs sexual, but not sex organs or breasts. I don’t remember where or what the people were, it was a while ago. Anyways, of course thighs are considered somewhat sexual in most places, but to these people they were the most sexually arousing and taboo part of the body. They wore minimal clothing, often essentially naked except they always covered their thighs with these tube like wrap things except when alone with their partners.
Essentially what this means is we find sexual what society tells us to find sexual, it’s not necessarily instinctive. You ever read the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this storm light archive? Women hide their left hands in that series. Being seen with your left hand out is like being caught naked I’d imagine yes. In some Muslim countries a womans hair and neck can be sexualised a lot. The opposite is true in cultures where women expose their boobs, and it isn’t seen as a sexual thing Well, living in a country during covid that went nuts with masks, I mean everybody in public for like 3 years, it started to feel like I was seeing something I shouldn’t when a mouth would appear. The first couple years of getting nude with my girlfriend, when just changing or taking a shower, I would get aroused. I (most often) don’t get aroused getting nude with her, 7 years into the relationship and now i It has been “normalized” to me. It is my understanding that since our cultures shame nudity, it makes it “naughty” and “obscene”, and because we’ve attached these connotations to it, it has become quite a stimulating thing, in negative or positive way, so some are traumatized by it or aroused depending on who, where and why. If we normalized nudity, and embraced our animalistic nature; our sexuality, then hyper-sexualization of our anatomy would cease imo. Yes, indeed. Ask skirt lengths rose ankles and knees weren’t considered as jaw droppingly sexy as they were when they were hidden. So if society decided that ears should be covered except to loved ones than yes, they would be sexy.
It’s not just that “fewer children will be born”, it’s you’re going to lose doctors. Alabama, and the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this south in general, have a hard time attracting and keeping physicians. Hence the Visa programs established to attract doctors to the south. Now, this will scare off doctors. And, it will scare off OB/GYN, much like states w/ strict abortion laws and punishments. To make it even worse, doctors are high earners, meaning they pay more in taxes. The IVF treatments are not cheap, meaning they bring money to those areas where it’s performed. The people will still want and get IVF, they’ll just go else where to do it, likely a blue state. So, long story short; they’re reducing the birth rate, lowering their tax base, making their state more risky to receive healthcare, all while making blue states richer and more attractive.
We cannot assume that Christianity is something everyone bases their positions on, this is why we need to be a secular nation. When they start granting no interest home loans, I’ll believe they are serious about the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this Bible. Feeding the hungry and healing the sick would also be a Bible thumping bonus move. This isn’t even a universal Christian belief, or a belief consistent with what most of these Christian denominations taught about when human life begins 50-60 years ago. This stuff is relatively new. Since they (red states) have a disproportionately loud voice in the federal government, they can keep leeching off the rest of the country. They know this, so they don’t care if they lose people.
What I don’t want to see is pity for the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this remnants of these shitholes in the years to come. “Oh but economic anxiety and they were lied to” … fuck them. They made their bed. Let them rot. They are actually too stupid to take federal money and are still blocking Medicaid expansion under Obamacare, even as dozens of rural hospitals are on the brink of closure due to unreimbursed care. They still get a lot more federal money than they put in. If you Google maker vs taker by state red states with few exceptions are all this way (Texas is the notable exception because of all the tech and space programs that are there) Texas is also less red every year. It went for W by 1.8 million in 2004, Romney by 1.2 million eight years later, Trump by 0.6 million eight years after that. With the Dodd ruling driving a lot of middle-class women out of the Republican Party, and with exceptionally polarizing candidates atop the Texas ballot in Trump and Cruz, it could be a very close race this year.
Man do I hope so. That would be a wake up call for the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this party of stupid even they would have a hard time denying . The Republicans are doing everything they can to keep people in Houston from being able to have access to voting. At some point they were working on legislation that would allow them to simply not take Houston votes into account and simply say that the area voted Republican. The party of free speech and democracy at work! And I’ll finally get that pony I’ve always wanted as well! The only difference is I’m more likely to get my pony. I feel bad for the people who don’t vote for it, but everyone who does deserves all the shit that happens to them I finally permanently left South Dakota for Minnesota a few years ago, I’d reached the limit of what I could take. It was somewhat bearable before Trump and Governor Noem, but no more. Hubby, unlike me, was a lifelong SD resident but even he, in his 60’s, couldn’t take it anymore. What sucks is our cost of living is so low, our wages are low too. So those of us in Alabama who don’t agree with anything our state government is doing definitely can’t afford to move. I bring home roughly $1500 a month after taxes. I can’t afford to move to the next town over, let alone to a blue state. Hey now, Arkie here. I’ve never voted for a Republican…not for any office. Hell, I even voted for Dukakis against Reagan in 88. We aren’t all morons here. There are actually more normal people than you think, but voter apathy and gerrymandering is a huge problem here.
No are you crazy, the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this only mistake Lincoln made was taking Johnson as his VP, and also he should’ve hung a few more people Yeah also every single person who fought on the side of the south, worked for the confederate government, or kept people enslaved after the emancipation proclamation should have also had every single thing they owned seized and redistributed to formerly enslaved people, even taking their clothes, and so they don’t end up naked, give them each a single outfit which had once belonged to someone who had been enslaved. I want to like this, and know its satire, but begrudgingly all the sensible people there will have to suffer. Maybe we let them secede, but first we hold a draft/trade. We take their liberals and give them our conservatives. Then we saw them off just below NoVA and live happily ever after I like this idea as I live in FL and am originally from AL. Trade me back up to Maryland where I lived for 15 years. I miss civilization.
Thank you for understanding that there are sane people in red states too. It hurts my feelings when I see people wish crap on everyone in a state just because we’re outnumbered. No, it’s not satire. I really think we should have left the Duke Blue Devils Yes I Am Old But I Saw 5 National Champions Mascot shirts What’s more,I will buy this South go. They have been a stone around our nation’s collective neck since before the country was even founded. You can see that in the original unamended version of the Constitution. The guy who wrote “All men are created equal” was a Southerner who owned slaves. Because of the South our nation was founded on cognitive dissonance and we still face the consequences today. Yeah, but then me and all my people would still be slaves down south today. Or at least 3rd class citizens as opposed to just 2nd class. Also, in the South today, with the Voting Rights Act essentially gone, you’re on your way back to 3rd class. White Southern Republicans dream of returning to the 50s. The 1850s. Hell, one Southern legislator was interviewed last week and said we need to return to how things were in the 1600s.
