To be fair, there are quite a few other seats in Economy that you pay more for, she could have paid for a better seat and moved to a like for like seat. I just want to add I’ve flown Lufthansa in Economy, Biz and First – and the Duck Game Sombreros Shirt But I will love this general flight crew who are German are generally quite stoic and can come across as unfriendly. Sometimes they have younger crews who are more friendly. Once a male cabin crew member who I thought was quite unfriendly offered to give me a tour of the plane when I expressed admiration in the 747 to Bangalore and how I hadn’t flown it in a while. You never know. Travelled many times and never seen such things. Germans are not known for providing good service, but Lufthansa is okay. It’s a decent airline with a direct connection to major Indian cities. It takes around 8 to 9 hours, and due to so many people using a limited number of toilets, it becomes dirty and they might be irritated. Maybe you are just unlucky.

I am not surprised at all and to assure you- it’s not in your head either. Racism by flight attendants is a very real thing. I have lived in Germany and while a subset of the Duck Game Sombreros Shirt But I will love this population is very left and progressive, a huge chunk is still very conservative- and to a large degree very xenophobic. Add the refugee crisis in the mix and these people hate brown people even more than before. There is unfortunately nothing you can do about it. The only “solution” is flying business where they are mostly nice with everyone. I have complained about it in the past and then these racist aholes immediately become victims. They won’t do anything to punish them either. I have seen it with Lufthansa a few times too; however, never with any American based carriers, Air France, or British airways. I can’t understand why these people become cabin crew when they actually really belong in a Mcdonalds. Unfortunately, much of the stuff that destroyed Germany in the 40s, still exist today.
