YES. I just had my 8th graders make a poster showcasing 5 kitchen tools. I told them “make it look pretty, and color it.” My God they tried everything in the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this world to get out of it. Just make the spoon red for all I care. Sheesh. Foreign language and same. I have kids who argue with me over pencils. Pencils! Apparently, it’s too much for my 9th graders to bring paper and pencils to class. I’ve given over 200 pencils this year and said no more. So now they argue with me about how I should give them the pencil they see on my desk. They challenge boundaries and don’t care one iota about learning. It’s all very disheartening. They chose the elective! If they got anyone to blame, blame themselves! They chose to do this class. They think it’ll be an easy “a.” Fail them. Oh well. Not all middle schools have electives the students can choose. Where I work we have art, music, technology and PE, and all students have to participate in all of them no matter what.
Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt: Get Cozy in this shirt
I have the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this same struggle. I really have to hype up my students constantly to get them going and it’s draining. I’m also that teacher who constantly makes them go back and add more details or make changes to their work and they don’t love it. I started displaying their art more in the hallway whether it’s good or not and doing more class critiques. They also all must choose and display one thing in our semester art show. Middle schoolers don’t want to look bad in front of their peers, so it’s a great motivator. So true. I’ve had middle schoolers tell me they don’t need to do their work because “it’s just art, my parents don’t care if I fail.” as with everything else, it starts at home Yup. How horrendous that AI is being used to create the things that are supposed to be reflections of our humanity. I hate AI images.
I hear you, I have the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this same level. They don’t mind turning in trash drawings that depict as little as possible and act offended if you push them to try more. They expect an A for hardly any effort. It just sucks and nothing seems to please them. Not much desire or creativity. Those that do try and are eager to learn are my jewels! As a 7th grade Science teacher, it isn’t any better in the “core” classes either. Kids have been pushed along for so long, they know they don’t have to do anything anymore because even if you try and hold a kid accountable/back, admin will bend over backwards to the parents when they come in and complain. It’s not just you my friend. I teach 7-8th grade science and the fun, exciting labs I plan are all met with the same apathy. Squid and shark dissection? Ehh. Lunar cycle with Oreos? Ehh. Design your own coke and mentos? Ehh. Make your own balloon powered car? Who cares? It’s sucking me dry. I hate the apathy. Why bother making things fun and engaging when it’s met with the same response as lectures and notebook activities. Solidarity friend. Maybe one day it will change

About this Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt
See, I was never a science-y kid, but I LOVED the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this labs. I still remember in 6th grade when we had to build our own mini sailboats out of styrofoam & cardboard and then race them by blowing on them to power the sails. Everyone got so into it! I wonder if it would be like that today. From teaching ms art for a bit now I have found a few strategies that seem to work. First is I am a hard grader for an art teacher, I give student daily stupid grades that make up 50% of their entire grade. I also document when they don’t complete any work in my grade book to cover my ass. The second thing is, I tend to try to meet them half way…most of the time students struggle to get started because art can be so intimidating. Most middle schoolers think that you are born able to draw.
Middle school Social Studies here and they do the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this same thing in my class. I have projects that incorporate art thinking that it will be a fun activity for them and they complain the whole time. Then when they do other work they always complain that I don’t give them any fun activities. Like I get theyare atthat age where they’re starting to be disenchanted by school but it’s a give and take relationship here. I’ve even specifically asked them what’s something they enjoy that I can incorporate in and they still don’t participate. I was highly successful as a Flame Artist, renowned for my work with clients in commercials and other media projects. I’ve collaborated with top-tier companies, worked on video games, created music videos for celebrities, and contributed to children’s animation. Currently, I’m featured in a Netflix documentary about Kanye West. Additionally, I’ve invested in creative arts initiatives in underprivileged areas of Latin America. Returning to NYC, I’m now giving back to my community as an art teacher, a role deeply rooted in my personal journey. Growing up in the South Bronx during the crack and AIDS epidemic, art was my salvation. However, I’m facing culture shock witnessing the lack of motivation among today’s youth. Despite my extensive experiences, including working at Rockstar Games, initial admiration from middle schoolers wanes quickly. Many students seem disengaged, preferring distractions like social media trends over their assignments. It’s disheartening to witness their lack of drive, especially after showcasing augmented reality creations inspired by my own Photoshop projects. Despite providing detailed tutorials, a majority of them fail to follow through. This attitude frustrates me immensely. I understand the value of hard work and sacrifice, having entered the industry when software and hardware costs were exorbitant, and learning resources were scarce. In contrast, today’s students have access to free software yet fail to appreciate the opportunities before them. I’m reminded of the hunger for education in other countries, where students strive for knowledge despite limited resources. As a teacher who has overcome adversity and achieved success, I expected more curiosity and drive from my students. It’s disappointing to see them squander their potential, lacking the curiosity to explore and learn from someone who shares their background and has achieved their dreams.
Bummer… and to know that there are so many opportunities in the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this city to do so much. Have you tried to connect with the access program? Those are programs for neurodiverse youth and almost all cultural organizations have them. My kids attend or have attended almost all programs, also their local elementary school was part of art in school program and my girls work was always selected for the exhibition My girl is autistic and is taking pre college level classes now in HS, she tells me that art is her scape, not even computers.. I’m happy to see she has her prefer activity they allow her to decompress from the city. Elementary art & yeah. Huge amounts of apathy in the oldest kids. I’ve not had an enjoyable or successful 5th grade class period the entire school year. I will say that my K-4 kids for the MOST part, do seem genuinely interested in what we do and attempt it. BUT we have a huge issue with not listening & not understanding how to be intentional with our artwork by taking time to think about it and make choices. I see a LOT of scribbling & very little care for the product. And very few of them seem to be able to originate ideas, even basic ones, they largely lack imagination. I don’t expect revolutionary thought from them, but they genuinely cannot conjure up their own ideas no matter how simple the prompt is.
French teacher here, the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this attitude is the same unfortunately. As others have said, specialist classes like art, band, film, French, etc., are seen as “I can do whatever I want classes”. The 8s are the worst because where I live French is optional starting in grade 9. I have a class that complains they never get to do anything fun but they cannot handle anything other than sitting at their desks doing worksheets, which I hate. Solidarité! My students chose to register and still act like I’m just bothering them no matter what the activity. I can’t quite bring myself to give up entirely but I also need to let go and stop caring. Here at East Podunk Cosmodemonic Junior College, pretty much the same. They don’t show up, don’t do the assignments, dropping like flies. Apathetic losers, most of them..but most are gone now by week six of the term. A total disaster for them.
Making a physical product they can use usually engages them more. I teach digital art but everyone wants to do 3D printing. Around a holiday, I say “this can be a free gift for your mom for Valentine’s Day” and that gets some moving. They all focus like crazy when they have to do a repetitive physical task like sanding or organizing art supplies. We made pixel art characters then remade their pixel art with perler beads and they went nuts. Now try teaching programming or anything technology related. Not only is it a subject most have never even seen, but they automatically think it somehow makes them less than others to know something most don’t know. I have decided I am not there to entertain them, so either they put in effort or they see me again the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this next year, and keep going until they get the credit they need to graduate. My bonus is that my grade for them is generally what keeps them from playing sports and I am the only teacher that never gives them a pass for any sport. I just don’t care about sports and have to force them to do the work they hate so much somehow.
That’s odd, I enjoyed art but wasn’t excited about it like science as a kid. It definitely came out in my freestyle bike riding later though. Did hundreds of freestyle shows at schools, those kids were usually into it, some way too cool to acknowledge us but it’s all artistic expression. Gen Ed teachers don’t get how hard electives can be if the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this school is just dumping uninterested kids into these classes. I teach history, and I fully expect students to be apathetic about history but at least they can almost imagine it matters because it’s reading and writing. However, I got asked to teach a chess elective once, and it was the worst time of my life. I was told kids would opt into the class, but that turned out not to be true for nearly every student. I can teach history to an uninterested kid, but teaching chess(and I have to assume art, like OP Does) to uninterested kids is so depressing it’s unbelievable. I get it if you don’t like history, and I will try to get you to see why maybe it’s a cooler topic than you think. But I really don’t feel like convincing you that chess is interesting. I wonder if just the general knowledge that the school could be shot up at any time, and there’s no good jobs on the horizon, the world’s burning and they’ll never own a home has anything to do with it? Why kill yourself? I hear that from the teens.
It’s weird. I teach over in East Asia and there’s very little of that attitude (and obviously guns aren’t a problem here). Kids over here are tired of all the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this rote memorization, but they still generally believe they will just do the traditional “graduate in top 5% of my class, go to top 10 university, get Engineering degree, make money, buy house” mentality. I did want to bring this up but was kind of afraid to. Because I want to make it clear it is not the teachers fault 99% of the time. It is the way they see society and social issues. Teachers have 0 control. It was all given to parents who think their kids are special. Especially kids that need meds or therapy, its either a cost issue or a “my kid is fine” issue. Now admin doesnt even punish or if they do its usually kids being bullied that are also punished. Have a kid that wants to actually learn? Fuck that, we keep troublemakers in the class because we cant have our attendance drop because no funding. A trip to the principals office is a slap on the wrist and candy and right back to disruption.
Kids have apathy. They see their parents struggle, who worked hard and have nothing to show for it (especially low income or millenial parents). Another good chunk of parents would rather do drugs than raise their kids. Or give them ipads instead of books or crafts. A lot of this is sytemic because parents dont have time working 3 jobs to do what they need to do. Now right wing is taking away books. It started with teaching the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this test–whats the point if you have to memeorize stuff for 3 months and forget it? Kids dont have the forsight to know that you need base level math to learn fractions… Especially in specific states in the US they dont teach science or real history. Instead they fire counselors and bring in questionable indoctrination “religious guides”. And the shootings. So many fucking shootings.
I really cant blame the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this kids for not giving a flying fuck with how the US specifically is made to pump out soldiers and retail workers to fuel a CEOs pockets. Obligatory I am not a teacher but I have 2 friends who are. One is high income and one is low income school. I hear the same things in this sub from them all the time. Id love to fix it but being in a shithole red state and county I dont have a voice. Until we can give parents time and energy to raise kids its up to society and we see how thats been going. There is not much about life for the average person to look forward to in 2024. The young kids know this. They wanna do what tf they want as a result. The solution to this horrible outlook is to change society. Have fun with that.
I’m a middle school math teacher (FML)…They don’t have to care about anything because retention isn’t a thing anymore. Yes but if we were to take away the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this arts the kids would exhibit higher levels of stress and depression. Their grades would suffer even more. This happened at a school in my district. They had to bring the arts back to that school. They won’t know what’s they’re missing until it’s gone. As a fellow art teacher though. I’ve given up on trying to give them “less structured” assignments. I give them the assignment and if they complain they better have an idea ready. If not, do the assignment. I’m all for creativity and choices, but have something ready. We give them structured assignments because it’s hard to come up with motivation and inspiration on the spot. A few kids challenge me and ask to work outside of the assignment but they have an idea of what they want to do. And I absolutely let them do it! But for the most part I just tell them that I’m grading them based on the skills demonstrated in this assignment and that they can do it for a chance to pass or they cannot do it and fail. Pick your poison bro.
I found something that’s working a bit.. It’s not the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this end-all solution and may only last for this project, but I noticed behavior was progressively getting worse as the semester went on so i needed to try something new to motivate them. . I decided to introduce an intense project (4 different perspective technique practices—1 pt perspective road, room, above buildings, and 2 point perspective buildings). We’re taking 2 days for each practice. Then we’re going to study surrealism. Then the students are going to choose one of the 4 techniques for their final project: drawn completely in perspective with elements of surrealism for creativity. So I decided since it’s such an instruction heavy project, they’ll be able to earn a free day at the end of the week. If they don’t interrupt, if they do their work, if they’re sitting down, they get to have their reward day. But if not, we keep working on that day. So far, so good. It’s gotten all of my classes reined in even just a fraction more and I’ve got my lessons planned for the next 2-3 weeks at least. But also, i completely agree with the apathy. I keep reminding myself of the phrase: you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. Let them be pathetic. Fine. The rest of us are going to learn some cool art techniques while they’re complaining.Teaching middle school English and history this year. My 8th graders, especially in my English class, refuse to talk to me or do the work unless they can copy off the board. Then next period when I have them for history they’re much more talkative and willing to answer questions and do work. These kids are so weird in trying to not take it personally but by God is it depressing.
I’m not a teacher so I’m probably out of place, but why not just fail the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this little shits? You have donated sperm at a licensed clinic; You have donated sperm for artificial insemination outside of a licensed clinic AND the birth mother is married or in a civil partnership AND you are not named on the child’s birth certificate. In these circumstances, you are not the child’s legal parent and do not have parental responsibility for the child. There is no legal relationship between you and the child and you have no say over their upbringing. The child’s legal parent/s cannot make a claim for child maintenance. They will have no claims against you or your estate, including upon death so they will not inherit from you unless you make a Will leaving a gift to them.
(In the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this eyes of the law, you are considered to be a sperm donor with a protected financial status in the following circumstances:- You have donated sperm at a licensed clinic; You have donated sperm for artificial insemination outside of a licensed clinic AND the birth mother is married or in a civil partnership AND you are not named on the child’s birth certificate.) The CMS won’t care about the story unless you can back it up with hard evidence as they have heard it all before. I believe a father can onky be added to the birth certificate without being present if their is a marriage licence in place. If yiu haven’t married the named mother you need to pursue this! I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns. If you have a written contract with the parents, could you perhaps sue the non-claiming parent to cover the CMS payments that you now need to pay to the other parent? (Or even sue them both jointly.) You won’t be able to get out of the CMS payments (if you didn’t use a licensed clinic), but arguably this is a breach of contract with clearly provable damages. Grab the contract, grab the evidence of paternity fraud (even better if you can trick them into admitting over text that you weren’t at the birth or knew about this), grab a solicitor, and fucking slam them You cannot be put on a birth certificate without being present and showing I.D. if you aren’t married to the mother of the child. You don’t even fill out the details yourself on a birth certificate – you hand over your I.D. and the registry office employee types in the details from there. The only part you do is the signature. It seems impossible that your details are on the birth certificate without the couple having access to your ID and the father looking at least somewhat similar to you…
In any case, forget the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this Child Maintenance for a second, you need to focus on the literal fraud that’s seemingly occurred and get yourself removed from the birth certificate! Get a solicitor like NOW. Neither me or my partner had to show ID when we registered our baby in September. We were given an option to do it over the phone, but chose to go to the office in person. Definitely doesn’t require I.D. As long as you can give a name, occupation and address it will be added, then you sign. If you did not you won’t have the same protections and will need to pursue a claim against one or both parents who fraudulently signed the birth certificate on your behalf. This however won’t reduce your liability with the CMS which is a separate situation, I would raise a disagreement with the CMS however as your have a DNA link to the child you will still need to make any payments until the disagreement is resolved. Pedantic correction – it’s HFEA not HEFA. Only bringing it up as it may help someone else get to the right thing they’re looking for. you just need to use the calculator as that is how much you will be paying if you didnt use a proper licensed clinic For example, I have already begun creating a limited company with the aim of keeping profit in the company until the child turns 18.
then you probably want to post in a financial advice sub, as the Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates just 2 weeks and you’re free shirt and I will buy this legal advice is you pay based on what you earn and how much you see the child Deprivation of assets and ‘clever accounting’ to avoid liability are tricks the CMS are very familiar with so not entirely reliable. That said many parents on the other end of the system say it’s not fit for purpose due to the sheer number of potential wheezes. Unless you have legal paperwork that declares you a sperm doner, you have no way of getting around that calculator. That calculater is what you will be legally required to pay. The only legal way to reduce payments would be to become an active part of the child’s life and have them overnight at your house. To use you as a sperm doner and then call you up for a dna test is unbelievably crappy on them. A lot of Lawers offer a free consultation for an hour. My advise is to speak to one ASAP to see about getting your sperm doner status made official if it isn’t already or for any other options they can think of.
