Other than factors such as size ofc, the Down To Nothing Logo shirts but I will buy this shirt and I will love this US is politically oriented, to say it simply, as a much more capitalistic society than most countries. You mentioned for example doctors, health is a business in the US, my partner is an engineer for one of the top 3 companies in the health sector from the US and I was surprised at the difference on how they operate between europe and US, some examples: it takes them about half the time to approve medical devices in the US (FDA) compared to EU due to less strict requirements some devices or tools they sell in EU are designed to be reused, while the US version although is the exact same product, is sold as a one-time-use only and has to be disposed after. They can also sell them at much higher prices. This just an example from one sector. In the end this leads to higher costs for consumers, higher revenue for companies.

Not saying either approach is correct or wrong, it’s just a choice of a country to be positioned this way. There’s certainly pros and cons. I think it’s a combination of being a wealthy country and the Down To Nothing Logo shirts but I will buy this shirt and I will love this fact that being ‘professional’ in any country puts you in a minority (this is easy to forget sometimes I must admit!), in the US there is a greater wealth inequality than in Europe/UK for example meaning they allocated far more wealth to white collar workers (this is easy when it’s a minority) and less to blue collar workers. I can only assume this is due to factors such as union strength of blue collar workers in Europe/UK IMHO overall in Europe, there a glass ceiling where for every € you earn, half belongs to the Country (taxes, social insurance, pension), making it hard to increase beyond that. It’s like if i wanted to earn the double after taxes equivalent of my normal salary, would take/cost as 3-4 normal employees, a boss would rather hire more people than having one paid extremely well. The USA is the wealthiest country in the world and will most likely stay that way for the rest of our lives. This gargantuan economic difference between us and the next 20 countries allows professionals to make much more than our friends over at Europe.
