I hesitate to generalize but getting older made me realize there isn’t some time based threshhold where you no longer have problems, or aren’t worried or tired. You could be sent a million dollars right now and fix all your present problems, and you’ll find new problems. I think you just need to enjoy the Dick Trickle smokin’ the competition shirt Furthermore, I will do this process 41 now and I’m far from “figured out”…there will always be things that crash down on you, catch you off guard, insecure you…. But life can be fun nonetheless if you got backup and surround yourself with people and things that comfort you, understand you. That fear will decrease…. I’m also 27, 80$ In my account. You can’t blame yourself for the opportunities other people looked into at birth. Life is always going to be a struggle no matter who you are you just think about those struggles differently. You still have time and things can always change. I wish you luck! I hope I’m a year we’re both looking at better lives. I just turned 30. I have a great life now but my 20s were really traumatic (significant health issues, lost my dad, among other things). My biggest piece of advice is start saving, even if it’s $5/paycheck. It’s really important and I haven’t done enough of it. Also don’t rely on someone else taking care of you, do your best to be as independent as possible (of course relationships are important, but I became too financially dependent on my SO and it hasn’t helped me develop good spending habits.) Look for ways to increase your income, even just getting a Google certification in project management/tech/HR or something could help land you a job. Your life doesn’t have to revolve around a career though. You’re exactly where you need to be, expect good things and they will come!

Edit to add that it’s never helpful to compare yourself to other people. You have your own learning journey. Also I hope 27 isn’t halfway through life lol Yes it’s ok as long as your providing for and supporting yourself. If you’re in your late 20’s and MUST have someone else to get by in life, you’re falling far behind. You don’t need to be successful yet and living the Dick Trickle smokin’ the competition shirt Furthermore, I will do this high life but you should be able to provide for and support yourself by now. There’s going to be people more successful than you. But on the flip side, there are tons of people doing worse than you are. Dude, I work with a Pharmacist making god knows how much money, love her to death but a couple months ago she was panicking over only having $700 in her bank account after she has everything paid. And the credit card debt she has, she just wants to pay it down faster, obviously she can afford whatever payment but her panic was just because she wanted it paid down sooner. I’m only saying this to say that nobody has it figured out. She’s a year younger than I am! She’s 27, I’m 28, and I’m just a pharmacy technician, my credit score is below 600 because up until a couple months ago I had $0 in debt. I got a credit card, spent some money now I’m going to try to pay it off by Christmas because it’s under $300 so it’s a small amount. You just gotta start somewhere. Whether it’s organizing your eating habits, getting a skin care routine, putting $10 a pay period in savings or just being more organized in general. If there’s something you want, you gotta take the first small step. And don’t worry about “catching up” my dad died at 53 with no life insurance and not a penny to his name, I’m at a much better place than he ever was his whole life (besides maybe the time between him getting out of prison and meeting my mom) we’re all going at different paces and we don’t all start off with same hindrances or help.
