I used to feel bad about doing this, but banks and credit card companies do this now too to their customers to ensure that if you’re asking for certain account changes, that you are who you say you are. It’s like dealing with the DMV. Not fun, but they’re sweet if you’re sweet. You got this! I’ve also gotten adjustment requests and I’ve also gotten scam calls. In every case (in the past) the helpful people who work there are happy to sort it out if you have the documents handy.
