And after I had defused the situation and gotten the old lady safely back to her room none of my female coworkers asked me how I felt or even acknowledged that I had been attacked at work. I think because I am a man and a man has to suck it up and tough it out. I hate that. When I get home from work and the adrenaline let go I felt like crying. And like breaking something and yelling. Ultimately I didn’t do either and instead played some video games and pondered how absolutely weird it is to be human.
