Easier said than done sometimes, but once you have the Deafheaven Cherubs shirt and by the same token and right method (this one) the results will inevitably follow. Its only when you start doing it well do you realize you were never doing it wrong and it’s all part of the journey and growing into it. So when you have these thoughts about the past or future or wrong decision you made. Be present at that moment. Do not repeat the same cycle of thinking about the mood or negative thinking. But practice mindfulness. Focus on your body and this process will break the negative cycle you repeating everyday 🙂 “Just go into the room and put one chair in the center. Take the seat in the center of the room, open the doors and windows, and see who comes to visit. Your only job is to stay in your seat. You will see it all arise and pass, and out of this, wisdom and understanding will come.” The correct approach is to be on the lookout for when a thought is occurring, upon recognizing a thought is occurring, redirecting your attention to the present. That’s all there is to it, if you are doing something that is not that, it could be quite ineffective. Your problem is you’re trying to stop thoughts. You can’t control thoughts, because they’re not you. They’re natural, human impulses.

You make the Deafheaven Cherubs shirt and by the same token and choice to focus on them or not. It’s in the focus that we find the zen. You are not your thoughts. That being said, just starting out and you have racing thoughts I’d start with 10 min meditation while outside taking a walk or sitting. Whether you’re at a park or by the beach, or on a city park bench you can try to focus your attention on your surroundings and be in the moment. Then I’d start doing guided meditations for 10 mins. When distracted by thoughts just take the focus back to the voice and your breathing. It’s ok if it keeps happening. Just keep trying..You work your way up to 15, 20, 30 mins. Slowly. You can do it! 🙂 Yes there are some great ones on YouTube. I love Jason Stephenson and Jessica Heslop. You can even do one to fall asleep to and you’ll still get the benefits.
