Same, I’ve always wished we had bigger denominations than just a dollar in the Day Drinkin Like Abe Lincoln Sunglasses American Flag T-Shirt moreover I love this US.We do. They are legal tender but the precious metals are more than face. Think the American eagle is the current one. I do like old paper currency… large format notes (that would barely fit in a modern wallet) and like fractional currency from WWII (5 and 10¢ bills) are kind of fun. Did the US have fractional currency during WW2? I have a few specimens of fractional bills, but all of mine are from the 1800s, like civil war era. They are absolutely awesome though. Yeah, I’m talking about the foreign stuff brought home by US soldiers during WWII. I’ve been coming across quite a bit of it again lately. I forgot about the fractional currency from the civil war. I also, somewhere, have a couple of the round metal encased stamps… unfortunately they are plain/don’t have any advertising on them. I read this three times before I realized you meant “in coin form.” I just kept reading this thinking… “umm we have 5s 10s 20s etc” Minneapolis had these too. Been a while since I’ve used the light rail there so I’m not sure if they still have them Boston too. I worked in a bar near a T(subway) stop, and people paid with those coins all the time because the machine just unloaded 18 of them back after paying their fare with a twenty.

They definitively do it on Marta in Atlanta. When I went to the bar later that night I just tipped with them like I was some pirate of the Caribbean asshole with Cursed Spanish gold.
