Children need boundaries and rules. Those rules need to be reasonable, but rock solid. Literally was my childhood. Parents are in a bind because little kids actually dislike bitter food because of evolution; it’s so they don’t eat poison. When I was a kid Lima beans were like the devil’s droppings. Some kids would malnourish themselves or give themselves diabetes if they controlled their diet completely. It’s not abuse for a parent to make their kids eat some perfectly edible health food, within reason.
