It doesn’t make the bomb any less horrific but it’s good to remember the actions and atrocities that led to it. That being said the bombs were targeted at a civilian populations it’s not a place they should have targeted. But war always hurts the innocent civilians more than the soldiers or the politicians no matter what side. I’m glad we haven’t had a major war since ww2. I hope we can keep it that way. Wars are impossible to end but hopefully we can at least bring the amount of them down so more civilians can live without a bomb smashing down their homes and killing their neighbors. They weren’t targeting civilians. Hiroshima was chosen because it was a big manufacturing city for Japanese weapons. Meanwhile, Nagasaki was an incredibly important port town for the Japanese Navy. Both cities were also fairly undamaged by the war so far, so the full power of the bombs would be shown. That’s why they didn’t choose Tokyo because it was already pretty much completely destroyed as it was.
