There’s no way they filmed major cameos that aren’t in the movie. Maybe in very early stages they had ideas that didn’t come to fruition but that’s it. Marvel paid Tom Cruise 15 million US for a days work playing Iron Man, another 20 million for the cast of the fox X Men films, another couple of million for Nic Cage etc and then decided not to use any of it in the final product? If you think Marvel or any studio would cut Tom Curise out of a movie after he had filmed his scenes. You would have to be out of your freaking, since Cruise is one of the few actors working today that can be a box office draw just having him it in. The new mcu review tactic is “this movie is good but not as good as this other movie the director made where it wasn’t doing a house style”

Also seeing a lot of “This movie isn’t as good as the Crestline Surf Paradise Crestline California T-Shirt But I will love this movie I made up inside my head I thought I was going to see” too. Just wondering, why is it that movies RT score decreases as time goes on? Why are the first 100 reviews more positive? The general consensus seems to be that this movie is quite messy but an entertaining popcorn flick. Some great visuals and real effort from the actors. Far from Marvel (or Raimi)’s best but a decent entry in the MCU. I’m just glad they let Raimi do his thing. That’s something even the movie’s harshest critics are admitting. This feels like a Sam Raimi movie more than a generic MCU flick. At the end of the day the only review that matter is your own. I have never understood why people take rotten tomatoes/metacritic so seriously. Make up your own minds. People act like a mostly postive/slightly negative score/review spells the end for the MCU or it’s going downhill. It’s been the most popular franchise in the world for 10+ years and general audencies tend to love the movies. There’s really not many things on Reddit that have a shorter shelf life than review threads. We overanalyze other people’s opinions on movies we haven’t seen yet for a few days and then immediately forget/ignore them once we’ve seen the movie for ourselves and make our own opinions. The “reunion” between Strange and Wanda is an odd way to put it because they never actually met (onscreen, I guess). The bits of the orchard conversation we have seen make them seem really familiar with each other and I wonder if that will be jarring in context for me. with the help of screenwriter Michael Waldron (Loki), this feels like the most auteur-driven Marvel movie yet, at least one not afraid to deviate from the expected MCU marching orders, but also quite faithful to the comic book bible in keeping the story in line with the overall arc of these intertwined things. It is a win-win all around.
