More than just the Cool School Field Day 2022 Last day Of School Field Day 2022 T-Shirt in addition I really love this pay. Brother is in an ATT union as one of those guys in the retail stores eith the tablets that try to sell you service. Was there maybe a year and had a stroke in his sleep. Not on the job at home in his bed. Mostly paralyzed on his left side. The union walked him through getting government disability and taking full advantage of grants etc related to disabilities. The union negotiated with ATT to get him an extra $500 a month from ATT for the rest of his life as long as his income never exceeds $3000 per month. TLDR: Be Pro Union. Nothing involving humans is perfect but it’s definitely better than trusting the rich to be nice. Your brother is in the type of job that benefits from a union though. He isn’t a “tech worker” but retail sales. Im not anti-union, if you think it’s best for you and your career go for it. but I don’t see the benefits for “skilled” labor and have seen lots of downsides in my personal experience. Well good thing sKilLeD tech unions are growing. I’m a privileged tech worker and am jealous of workers in “not skilled” (whatever that means) unions. Without a doubt they have better work life balance and protection. I’m PRO-union in every damn industry. If that’s the work environment you want to join that’s your prerogative. I’ve worked with union shops and it was the least rewarding and productive work experience in my career. Younger works would get hired on, develop their skills and realize they could walk down the street and double their pay in minutes what would take a decade as part of their union. It didn’t matter if they were more productive, skilled or meticulous than their co-workers all that mattered was their time in the seat.

If there’s a thriving market for your skill set, like most “tech” worker’s experience right now you can leave a job that doesn’t have a good work life balance, or restricts your PTO for one that does all while being compensated based on your contribution to the Cool School Field Day 2022 Last day Of School Field Day 2022 T-Shirt in addition I really love this company. Those who don’t have that luxury, can’t really differentiate themselves through merit or can easily be exploited should actively consider joining or starting a Union. We’re working within capitalism. No one — not Amazon warehouse workers nor the average software engineer at Google — is getting paid the true value of their contributions. Capitalists give as much as they can get away with. We’re lucky unions can sort of tip pay in a better direction, but we’re going to need militant unions to truly see the appropriate pay.
