Glock 21, 45 Caliber Left Thigh, nicked my scrotum but my nuts are ok. Felt like someone hit me with a bat with no initial pain. I’ve never been actually shot, but I thought that was interesting. My dad served in Vietnam and was shot in the tip of his left shin bone. He described the searing heat like others in this thread. He also nearly bit through his lower lip while being loaded onto a helicopter. He used to show us the little tab of separated skin on the inside of his mouth. 40 years later he needed surgery to remove a collapsed vein in his leg as a result, along with some other side effects. I’m surprised by the number of answers with people who barely felt any pain at the time. It’s really interesting. Is it shock, or does the bullet damage nerves or something?

Wasn’t shock for me, I assume the Christmas McDonald’s unicorn rainbow shirt in addition I really love this nerves are fucked before they can react. Everyone and everything can be different from the persons build to location of impact to caliber of bullet etc.. all in all I end up saying alot “I’d rather be shot again then deal with that”. I’ve broken ribs and hell stubbed my toe and had it hurt worse. I will say the long term ache when the weather changes is a bitch….. Pretty scary how most stories here are impacts on armor plates or lower half of the body. Scary but also probably a great example of survivor bias Not me but I worked as an EMT and a gunshot victim once told me he thought he got punched from behind, felt like someone hit him so hard it knocked the wind out of him. Turns out he got shot in the back and the bullet entered his lung. No exit wound. I had a bullet go straight above my big toe just leaving a hole in the nail so idk if that really classifies as being shot but it was mildly unpleasant to say the least
