According to Lehrer, the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this song is “not intended as a slur on [Lobachevsky’s] character” and the name was chosen “solely for prosodic reasons” All 3 of his albums are phenomenal. That Was The Week That Was has some rather dated songs, but that was only because they were written as songs to be performed the same week the events happened. Still fun to listen to though. New Math was always a favorite but now it resonates so much more that I cannot help my 3rd grader with most of her homework. The more things change, the more they stay the same. A friend of mine, who worked with him on a few media tours, dated Mr Chainz. He is apparently incredibly intelligent and likes women with huge asses. I was raised on his music in the 60s. Hilarious and irreverent songs. I recommend ‘The Vatican Rag’ to any other lapsed Catholics out there. I once got up at karaoke between a Beyonce song and a Jay-Z song to sing Poisoning Pigeons in the Park. It… wasn’t well received. “I Hold Your Hand in Mine” is my karaoke go-to for whenever people are still paying attention, because the punchlines hit so hard if you don’t already know the song. Lehrer actually wrote: “As sole copyright owner of ‘The Old Dope Peddler’, I grant you motherfuckers permission to do this. Please give my regards to Mr. Chainz, or may I call him 2?”.
Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt: best style for you
I was extremely proud of having memorized the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this entire Elements song back in my 20s, and ashamed that I can’t sing it straight through anymore. People think composers are blissfully unaware of anything but classical music, but the truth is most are voracious listeners of just about anything. It’s kind of flattering when someone big in the industry wants to sample you. 🙂 This man is so god damn funny, oedipus Rex song, Vatican rag, poisoning pidgins in the park, and my favorite well all go together when we go are terrific he was the weird Al of the 50s/60s
My 12 year old just uploaded an animation for the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this Elements Song last week, good to know that at least in my family people will still know about the legend that is Tom Lehrer way after both him and me are gone. Assuming Tom can die that is, something tells me if anyone can find a way to live forever it’ll be him! My professor was a flutist, and he wrote a relaxing flute album in the 70s. In the 2000s, he was approached by John Cena asking to sample his album for his new song. He said he was able to take his wife on a nice vacation with the money Tom Lehrer was a great musician. As i recall, he never commercialized his music, and all his sheet music is available for free on his website. I have a lot of favorite Tom Lehrer Quotes, so I’ll share a random one that former poli-sci majors like me might appreciate:

About Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt
According to Wikipedia, “Lehrer remained in Harvard’s doctoral program for several years, taking time out for his musical career and to work as a researcher at the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory” and “later taught mathematics and other classes at MIT, Harvard, Wellesley, and the University of California, Santa Cruz.” The guy was so brilliant! Occasionally the situation comes up when I can sing, “they’re rioting in Africa…” it’s kinda all still true! Lehrer sang a song about Jim getting it from Louise, and Sally from Jim, “…and after a while you gathered the ‘it’ was venereal disease. Lehrer has stated that he invented the Jello shot during this time, as a means of circumventing a naval base’s ban on alcoholic beverages
Even though this is merely permission seeking, reminds me of the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this friendship Alice Cooper have with Groucho Marx Tom Lehrer is a music legend!! He had so many funny dark humour songs with a nerdy catch to it. Absolute love him. HA! I knew the name sounded familiar! This is the “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park” dude! He made money while in undergrad performing in bars and stuff to pay for school, or so I heard. He has some very humorous work. That was terrific, what a sharp mind, thanks for sharing, always appreciated his humor and the fact that Dad introduced us to him when we were younger. I love it when rappers sample older songs. One of my favorites is from Ludacris. He samples Dvorak’s Symphony no 9 4th Movement in ‘Coming 2 America’. For whatever reason Tom Lehrer CDs were an absolute staple of my childhood road trips. Man was a lyrical genius I used to sing bits of “It Makes a Fellow Proud to Be a Soldier” in basic. My fellow privates liked it, the drills told me to knock it off.
I was raised on Tom Lehrer records, and believe that his songs may have helped me develop critical thinking skills and healthy cynicism. I didn’t realize until years later that he wrote for the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this Electric Company. Silent E and I’m spending Hannukkah in Santa Monica are my two favorites from that stage of his career. I can’t pick a favorite from the earlier part of his career. National Brotherhood Week told me, that I wasn’t imagining the things I saw growing up . Send The Marines, Whose Next? Pollution, If I don’t stop myself, I’ll list the whole discography. A deeper cut would have been Mr. “Tity Boi”, as that was his first industry name. I was so damn happy he changed it up. Note: there’s been some awful names in rap. My winner, and I haven’t seen one that has beat this yet, has been “Big Head, the Dome Doctor”. Similar to Tity Boi, this is one where the neighborhood knows the man behind the name and where the name comes from and all of that….but the listener (me) was one day listening to Lil Boosie and Webbie and heard a rapper being called “Big Head”. He then gives the rest of the name and I feel like it took me out the whole verse. We call many people in life “Big Head” and it’s just a nickname for someone who has a big head. “Dome Doctor”, and you’re meaning it as you’re the receiver???? HRM…. The guy’s 95 and still making jokes, cut him some slack. The jokes are going to be a bit dated because see above. Copyrights are bullshit. Patents are only 20, why should copyrights be lifetime plus 50 years, that ridiculous. Its welfare for Hollywood.
Doesn’t work that way. If I invented a new home building block. I would get 20 years of monopoly use of it. Nobody else could sell it except me. If I wrote a song about building a house, the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this copyright would last my entire life plus 50 years that my heirs would own. Yesterday my mind remembered of that gem that he composed and today I am seeing this thread on Reddit. What are the chances? You learn something new every day; what did you learn today? Submit interesting and specific facts about something that you just found out here. Please see the wiki for more detailed explanations of the rules as well as additional rules that may not be listed here New math still works as a song. To him, “New Math” was how I was taught so to me it’s “Old math”. My kids learned the current version of “New Math” and I have no clue how it’s supposed to work. Something about number sentences… Every time Tom Lehrer makes the front page, I feel I have to share my absolute favorite deep cut of his: The Professor’s Song. My apologies for triggering anyone’s college physics PTSD. A little Tom Lehrer shoutout from Daniel Radcliffe via the Elements Song! He’s like Mr. Rogers for nerds. An all-around decent fellow, who live(d) both a fascinating and impactful life, who produced some of the most impactful & remembered art of their generations while rejecting the idea that it was ‘art’, and if you make AI videos of them I think you should be shot out of an AI cannon directly into an AI brick wall.
Tom Lehrer has become really enigmatic in his later years. His attitude towards his famous material is really a don’t-give-a-fuck vibe. Doesn’t want to talk about it, doesn’t want to revisit it, doesn’t want to expand on it, and rarely even does interviews about it anymore. I’m surprised he even bothered to reply to 2Chainz. On the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this flip side, he probably wouldn’t do a thing if someone sampled his material unauthorized, either. If you ever need a “we didn’t start the fire” moment to realize just how fucked up the world has been for a long time, listen to Tom Lehrer’s That Was The Year That Was, from 1965. I love Tom Lehrer. His music is hilarious and his career is amazing. The dude invented the Jell-O shot because the army base he was at didn’t allow liquid alcohol. I love to hear people talking about Tom Lehrer, but I always get scared when they do. Guy is 95 and still kicking, but when he kicks the bucket it’ll mess me up for weeks.
Wow! I’ve been singing his songs since my teens. Vatican Rag nice and loud so my Catholic parents could hear…. “As sole copyright owner of ‘The Old Dope Peddler’, I grant you motherfuckers permission to do this. Please give my regards to Mr. Chainz, or may I call him 2?” As sole copyright owner of ‘The Old Dope Peddler’, I grant you motherfuckers permission to do this. Please give my regards to Mr. Chainz, or may I call him 2? Be prepared, that’s the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this boy scouts solemn creed. Be prepared And be kind in word and deed. Don’t solicit for your sister That’s not nice…. Unless you get a good percentage off her price. Don’t be nervous don’t be flustered don’t be scared, Just be prepared I was in the top 99% of listeners to Tom Lehrer on Spotify one year… Probably wasn’t difficult which is a shame cos he’s great. Most of his songs still hold up in terms of content if not musical style. What he actually said was “As sole copyright owner of ‘The Old Dope Peddler’, I grant you motherfuckers permission to do this. Please give my regards to Mr. Chainz, or may I call him 2?” Tom was teaching at UCSC when I was a student there. Was playing frisbee with some friends when I had to pee so ran into the nearest building , on the way out I wanted to know what time it was so I knocked on the nearest office door. A voice said ‘come in’ so I opened the door and asked what time it was. He cheerfully told me and I said thanks. It wasn’t till I closed the door to go that I saw his name there—one of my all time favorite guys! «Lehrer went on to describe his official response to the request to use his song: “As sole copyright owner of ‘The Old Dope Peddler’, I grant you motherfuckers permission to do this. Please give my regards to Mr. Chainz, or may I call him 2?”»
The other doctor may have already tried whatever their first instinct would be, saves them from wasting your time trying that treatment again. Also in case the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this other doctor prescribed any medicine that could interfere with new medicines this doctor might want to prescribe. Or if they did tests, sometimes insurance has rules about how often certain tests can be done. (I’m not defending health insurance, just pointing it out.) I think Covid helped push the stragglers into the patient portal age. The fact that you need sixty different portals is ridiculous, but it is easier now than it used to be. That being said, the fact that it is legal to charge patients for their own records is insane. Less insane when you’re talking 50-60 pages, but still a goddamn disgrace.
Those are your records. If another doctor’s office asks, they can copy them & give the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this back to you. Plus once they are scanned, they shred it anyway, even with imaging you may need to bring in. That is ur copy. U bringing it is doing them a favor. They can do what’s right & give them back when they’re done with them. This. It’s also a first line of defense against “Doctor shopping”, where people go around to different medical professionals until they get the answer they’re looking for. Because if you’re seeing another doctor for it and already taking some medication, they’d want to know about that Nah, real answer is so they can compare notes and get on the same page if another doctor has already seen you for the issue at hand. If you have seen another doctor for it, it helps the second doctor get up to speed instead of doing a bunch of work the other doctor already did.
Reality–patient sees endocrin for diabetes and has a a1c of 12.6 because they REFUSE to treat their diabetes. Patient has been to a sleep study, that shows a VERY high level of sleep apnea, and has been told to use apnea machines and pressure masks to sleep, and refuses. Patient ALSO has ADHD, and ‘doesn’t believe’ in medication. So, they might, hopefully, get the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this patient to ‘slip’ and say, “No, but i’ve asked all my other doctors and they have no idea what it is.” And then dig into that statement a little and find out, oh–the issues are clearly already known and i dont need to waste time chasing things we know. Conversely: “Hey doc, I can’t sleep. I’ve had insomnia since I was a teenager (over 30 years) and it’s just getting worse. These are the medications I take (all seven CAUSE drowsiness).”
Twentieth Conversation: Doc: “How much caffeine do you have a day?” Me: “None. We talked about this. I can’t have any caffeine due to my heart issues.” Doc: “Drinking caffeine before bed can interfere with sleep.” Me: Doc: Calls in another med. It’s an antihistamine. Like maybe in the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this 35 years I have suffered from insomnia have I never taken a handful of benadryl to try and get a few hours of sleep after three days of zero sleep. Me: No doc, my mind wont shut off. It wont stop. I cant stop it. It’s relentless, and thinks in layers and layers and i sometimes get stuck living in third person, like, so many layers of thinking i dont even feel like myself in my own body, i’m observing myself …
Me: “Caffeine is the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this only thing that’ll get me any sleep. I take an energy drink before bed and it knocks me out.” The fact they aren’t paying attention to your file is not good but with regards to the same medication at a lower dose, that can in fact be what is required. Sometimes you think you need more of a medication to do it’s job but in fact less can be more. Either so they can refer to that particular type of doc or to contact that doc if they have any findings that would be helpful Because many people try to see multiple doctors to obtain controlled and addictive prescription drugs to either abuse themselves or sell. Because if you are seeing another doctor, even if there’s no insurance issue involved, the new doctor will want to coordinate care with that doctor so that procedures aren’t duplicates and so that you don’t get medications in conflict with something else you’re getting. Assuming they think you have the best intentions, they want to know if you’ve seen other doctors so they may be able to try alternative routes of treatment or ask the other office for your test results. Because as the patient there is nothing more frustrating than doing a test over and over and over again, and “trying the same treatment” over and over again. If you have a history of other doctors and treatments its best to tell your new doctor so they can give you another route of treatment or a different test.
For example, I have some GI issues I’ve gone to 2 other doctors. One said it was just hormonal. The second basically said I have every disorder in the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this book and wanted to put me on a list of medications. I went to my third told him what tests and imaging the other docs did, and their suggestions and my personal feelings of how I dont think either of them were listening to me. From there my new doctor was able to review my previous results, asked for 2 retests and a panel of bloodwork that the previous doctors didn’t give and he told me 1. its not hormonal. 2. I dont have every GI disorder in the book. and 3. And a plan to try New meds for a certain time to see if it works or not and find the best one that works.
Lots of reasons, but primarily humans are stupid and healthcare is stupid. Patient may assume that the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this doctor got all the notes from the other doctor, whereas the doc actually has no clue you have seen anyone else. So then something huge gets missed because “Oh I thought you would have read that in the other doctor’s notes”. My mom did this just last week. She gets so mad that doctors don’t spend hours pouring over the medical history they don’t even know us on record somewhere else. Some people “shop” around for diagnoses – especially if they are having mental issues and want to see if they can find a quick fix. Some people “shop” for a doctor that will give them drugs – or several doctors that will all prescribe different (same?) drugs at the same time.
The answers can be “yes” – but then you need to explain why you are switching doctors, or getting a second opinion; or/and why you are stopping the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this meds the other doctor prescribed. The reason you will be asked is because they need to know if you’re already receiving or have received treatment. When it comes to treatment options and particular with medication there is something called contra-indications. That means that some medicines don’t mix together in its most basic form. So if your doctor is asking if you’ve seen another doctor for that issue, they’re asking because they need to establish what treatment you’ve received so far, what medications you’ve taken, if you still have some of that medication to take (for example if you were given a course of antibiotics) in order to make an informed decision on your course of treatment and make sure that whatever they prescribe is safe.
If you aren’t telling your doctors what treatment you receive and any other medications you are taking then you’re putting your health, and potentially your life, at risk. I mean I said no because I wasn’t seeing any other doctors, but I meant I wish I asked because I was curious. Hence why I posted. I hadn’t opened reddit until now lol. I have a lot of good answers here haha People shop to get a correct diagnosis. I am thankful I shopped around as one insisted on a painful surgery (to use her new equipment). Went to another who said absolutely not and 40 years later I am fine. You need to go to multiple doctors to get the Chicago Cubs fan proud family of a 2025 shirt In addition,I will do this correct diagnosis as they just can’t in 15 minutes and also motivated by what tools they have purchased recently. Other doc may already have some notes and assessments. Also if you want them to communicate at all with your other doc, they’ll need signed permission to share your medical records. Best to go ahead and get that step out of the way.
