I have BPD. Sure, I was in therapy for almost 10 years and I am doing somewhat good, but I don’t want another child traumatized. My parents are mentally ill, my grandparents as well. I just think it’s time to break the Cherish flowers T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this cycle and not hurt another innocent life. Plus that I can’t live a normal life due to all the other things that come with BPD (depression, anxiety, eating disorder). This world is fucked. I don’t want to live with the knowledge that my child might live in an even harder world. Who knows how bad it will get in the next years. But maybe I’m just too cynical. I love them immensely and wouldn’t change it for the world. I’m just in a season of reminiscing about life before kids. I didn’t fully recognize the freedom I had BC (before children) and now I wish I would have done more with that time. Whether its truly enjoying a lazy day or mapping out a fulfilling week of work or activities — it’s harder to come by and you have to dig deep to find the energy and mental drive to make it happen. My kids have made me grow as an individual and have challenged me in very healthy ways but sometimes it’s nice to think back on the days when time moved slower and I could book a trip and leave town in a few hours notice. I’m excited for the days when they are just a bit older and we can chase ideas and adventure as it comes to us.
