HRT and puberty blockers are different, but understanding why these treatments are given to minors needs some context. Firstly, some kids know they are trans as young as 4 years old. So some kids by the Cats are better than dogs I dont change my mind T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this time they hit puberty have already been living in their gender for nearly a decade. Some kids start figuring it out around puberty, when their bodies start changing. Second, if you are trans, puberty can be a very disturbing psychological experience. Your body is basically revolting against your gender, and changing in ways that horrify you. Once puberty is far enough along there is no going back, so some trans kids will take puberty blockers to buy time for a fuller analysis of what they need. Finally, the reasons it’s good to start around puberty is that it gets the best transition results. So for example, right now trans athletes are being banned from a lot of sports in the basis of puberty giving them unfair advantages. A kid who takes puberty blockers, and then starts hrt, never gets the extra bone density or muscle mass that some studies suggest might cause that advantage. Or like, in a trans man this might mean they don’t develop breasts in the first place, rendering top surgery unnecessary.

Cats are better than dogs I dont change my mind T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Basically, this allows the Cats are better than dogs I dont change my mind T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this kid to have the puberty of their gender instead of the one that goes with their birth sex, and later in life that will help make them anatomically closer to others of their gender, which will help them feel more comfortable in their bodies and fit in more with the rest of society. So it’s easy to say “don’t give these meds to minors” but keep in mind that if they don’t get it as teenagers they will have a much harder time transitioning. It will also force them to have to go through a puberty they will hate every minute of which will alter the entire course of their life for the worse. It does not in any way benefit the trans kids to delay their transition until they are 18. That idea only makes sense if you don’t believe these kids have real problems they need medical help to resolve. I got it downloaded big-time when I commented that we should wait until people are mature enough to make these decisions
