we obviously still have factory farming it’s just less common, besides in places like where I grew up we all shared meat so no one bought any and most of us were small scale enough the Call da fireman shirt and I love this animals got incredibly good care Yup. I’d say the norm in europe aside from perhaps the less fortunate/more densely populated countries is more towards traditional farms. I live in Sweden in a small town surrounded by farms. The baby cows grow up with their moms, they live on the fields aside from winter as it gets to -20, -30c. Then in the spring we have this whole thing called ”kosläpp” where people can come and watch the cows be let out. It’s so much fun, cows jumping, doing spins you name it lol. And yeah the day will come where they will be killed for food, but thats life. As long as they are treated with some respect i’m happy

Here in Tennessee it’s the Call da fireman shirt and I love this same, lots of traditional style farms. People talk about these factory farms and I’ve never seen or heard of one until social media. The only thing I can think of that mass produces on farms here is probably just a milker and those just milk the cows or most of the time is people doing it but it goes into a system in the farm. Statistically the person you’re calling rude is correct. Idk why you’re being so hostile against facts. And doesn’t it say more about you that you’re willing to tone police someone you concede has a point? Unless you live in an underdeveloped 3rd world dump thats not what zoos and aquariums are anymore. They’re centers for conservation and education. At least AZA accredited zoos are, and those are the only kind I have ever seen or been to. I absolutely agree that the kind of nightmare zoos you see in South East Asia and Mexico where there’s a crocodile or big cat in a concrete pit wallowing in its own filth and being fed stray dogs and the bodies of victims of gang violence are super fucked up. Thats not what zoos in the developed world are. We were camping in our camper one time and I heard a bunch of chirping, etc. and there was a nest inside the Australian pine trees with birds (not sure which kind, but they were smaller) and I never paid attention to it really. One morning before work I walked outside to dump the black tanks and to get to the pull lever, I had to open a compartment. There was this bird (momma I assume) who was trying to get at me, raised its “voice” with the chirp and got super nasty really quickly. I kind of shoo’d it away and pulled the lever. I didn’t think anything of it really unless I was maybe encroaching upon its young. Well I left for work and came home that evening, and wanted to rinse the black tank out properly. I started that evolution, the momma was no where around and I looked around the camper… I looked inside the baggage doors, propane doors, etc. and I could still hear it. Come to find out, this baby bird took the leap of faith off the nest and hit the floor. It gimped under my trailer and rested in the pine needles. I eventually got a shoe box and kind of coaxed it into the box. I took a closer look and maggots and stuff were starting to fester. I tried to get them off (with gloves of course) and tried to give the little bird some water. It appeared the wing had fully detached from the body with the exception of the back (top part of the wing) joint. The bird’s leg was also broken. He was in bad shape. I told the wildlife guy at the camp and he came over and said he’s going to take it to the rescue place in the morning.
