its not good to date somebody in a friend group that youre new to (youll get dropped over them even if they were in the Brayton the man the myth the legend retro T-Shirt moreover I will buy this wrong) That cheating is freaking wrong, cheaters are assholes, and you should always check if someone has a girlfriend before developing an emotional connection with them Dont tolerate abuse, and certainly dont give up on life for a girl who isn’t defining your life or day or choices. People can be two faced as fuck and tell you they love you while also getting railed out on another guys’ snap story Sometimes your partner hasn’t figured themselves out yet and that manifests in some really annoying habits or behaviors that will only make sense in hindsight. NO to staying friends if they WONT respect boundaries. Summer after graduation…I did not want to let her go but rightfully so she was young and wasn’t sure. She would still string me along and tell me things that you don’t tell your ex (send pics, tell me she misses me, send old pics of us and tell me it’s weird being with new people who aren’t me) , but then go and date other people but message/meet up w me behind their backs. I wish I could go back and tell myself to move on because she has!!! I will never know why I was so tied to her as we really didn’t have much in common actually. I am engaged now to an amazing woman who is my entire best friend and I could not imagine anyone else. I’m glad things worked out the way they did but man my little 18/19 yr old heart could have used a visit from my future self.

It is crucial to never lose your sense of self within a relationship. While you can experience deep love and devotion towards another person, it’s essential to maintain your own identity and not let your love for them consume your entire existence. Stay true to who you are, honor your emotions, and preserve aspects of your life that are exclusively yours, rather than solely revolving around your partner. Always be willing to be honest with self about any assessment made and be ready to take appropriate action(s) up to and including breaking it off. Not much, I was a kid basically. It was the relationships that followed that taught me every sense of goodness, brokenness, and self re-evaluation. Many life lessons learned the hard way. Don’t get attached at this age. Talk about him to friends you have in common so you know what you’re getting into.
