You should talk to your manager about the Boxing Christmas Merry Box Mas Boxing shirt and by the same token and situation (not your bitterness). It’s possible she has some faults but it’s honestly unclear whether your judgement is clouded by your jealousy. You think she is terrible technically and only getting by because of soft skills. Perhaps, but often likely no. Don’t beat yourself up too much. We all have strengths and weaknesses and not all personalities are designed to thrive in a corporate environment. I’ve accepted I’m an introvert who can be overstimulated very easily. I prefer a small social circle, hence why I found a remote job and am much happier. Save all your money so you can leave and start your own company or retire early. You would do better on small high performing teams. Either at a startup with shit pay…or your own company. I feel your pain, I struggle with bitterness even to this day as I watch people scam and cheat their way into positions it took me years to reach.

I care about the Boxing Christmas Merry Box Mas Boxing shirt and by the same token and work, the company, and the customer. That’s it nothing less nothing more, eventually the truth prevails, self doubt is your biggest enemy. If you work harder, smarter, and faster. If you show people that you have ideas about how to make things better, eventually your reputation will carry enough weight to have an impact. All of these replies are different forms of “sucks to be you lol. At least my job managers like me.” – not helpful or constructive advice. If you like the company you’re at and don’t want to leave, help her find a job somewhere else. Recommend her to recruiters and other contacts. If you don’t mind putting your neck out. Then I’d maybe speak with her or your manager. If not, then either just do the job for the paycheck or look for a new role. I did it once and he told me that he saves the most complicated tasks for me because I am the “problem solving champion”. Her social skills aren’t the only thing getting her where she is. She takes great ownership over her projects it seems. Doesn’t matter if they’re a bit late, 1 quarter doesn’t necessarily kill a project or the company. What matters is her ability to form a team of developers and lead them to the finish line in an effective way. That’s ownership. Moving up in this industry will take soft skills so you can find the talent necessary to take under your wing when it comes time to own your own project. Sometimes you’re assigned a team, but as you move up you’ll need to make your own proposals and form your own teams. That’s part of what separates juniors from mid level and senior devs.
