I go out of my way, even flying to places to find brick and mortar solutions to my shopping needs. Fuck Amazon and ordering online and getting blamed for when something doesn’t get delivered. There are two mall near me that really illustrate how important making these businesses into “Third Spaces” is crucial to their survival. One of the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Apart from…,I will love this malls has been on its last legs for years, now. More shops disappear everyday; replaced with either nothing at all or weird, niche shops that hardly anyone visits. The only thing keeping it afloat is the Macys and the movie theater. If just one of them goes, it’s all over for the entire mall. The other mall, on the other hand, is doing great. The whole place got a facelift, is full of trendy stores and nice restaurants, movie theaters, etc. It’s always busy, and the people going there are also young and stylish. This mall will almost certainly survive if Macys goes under. In short, the malls focusing on making their businesses an “experience” for customers will stand the test of time, while the rest are going to keep fading away. It’s sad, but that’s how it is in business, I suppose.
Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt description
Macy’s used to be a big deal about 30-40 years ago. They had a leg up on Sears and JC Penney for a long time, but once they started to fold, Macy’s started filling their shelves with cheap shit. This could be a smart move to try to shift back towards luxury, but they’ve got an uphill battle to change how they’re perceived. My perception of Macy’s was never too high, but the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Apart from…,I will love this way they treated Marshall Field’s and Chicago in general when they barged in sent my opinion of them into the toilet. They came in acting like “well, everyone wants to be Macy’s, everyone wants to be New York” – and they badly misread Chicago. We wouldn’t have cared, if they’d just left the Field’s name alone. (We all knew that Field’s hadn’t been owned by Field’s in years – but the name had stayed, through all the changes.) That’s all we wanted – but no, they were arrogant and thought they knew better.
I hate, hate, hate Macy’s small format stores. All they have is cheap junk, which I assume has the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Apart from…,I will love this largest margin. the US market, while huge, is not as large as ROW who just want the lowest cost possible. So the factories that used to do decent quality have moved downmarket, while others (MUCH fewer) have moved too far up to to psuedo-luxury. This is scary in some ways because it reinforces how stratified the economy is. Those who are doing well feel too good for Macy’s. The rest are too poor to shop there. I was around 20 when I noticed that unless you were chasing a specific designer purse or something- their products were the exact same quality as JC Penny’s but for twice the price in a slightly better organized store.

Let buy this Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt
Now that Im mid-30s with a career and could afford Macy’s fairly easily- I’m still not interested in going there because I know that fact is still true. Apparently this same trend is being experienced at McDonald’s restaurants as well where they have priced themselves out of being “affordable” to a large percentage of people and the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this rest would rather go to higher end chains There’s a local burger place near me that is the same price as McDonald’s. Why would I pay for them when I can get better fast food burgers from a local chain for the same price? That’s us. When McDonalds turned into a $30 date we started going to higher-quality independent burger joints and chains like Shake Shack instead. The price is the same but the food and service are astronomically better.
Shake Shack is not the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this same price as McDonalds. A shack burger, fries and a drink at Shake Shack is $15+tax in most of the country and $16+tax in NYC. A quarter pounder with cheese, fries and a drink at McDonalds is less than $10+tax in most of the country and less than $12 in NYC. Sure McDonalds is more expensive than it used to be, but it’s not Shake Shack levels. Shake Shack is 33-50% more expensive. And that’s ignoring discounts you can get in the McDonalds app, which generally saves like 20%. Yup, the Dollar Menu crowd is gone, while the folks who could easily afford to pay $10 for lunch each day are going to fast casual places like Chipotle, or local burger places with that hipster lighting. What struck me was that the luxury lines are the only growing part of the business. Like no one wants to buy work or back to school clothes there, but the ones that can afford Louis Vuitton and Hermes are shopping more than ever… Kind of sums up the income divide pretty starkly
This is credited to the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this fact that there is now a well-developed secondary market for luxury goods and they keep their value well for resale. Also, they may not yet have all the expenses that older adults have, if living at home still for instance. Also, they can’t get in on the big item tickets like a house, so they’ve got to do something with their money… I find that surprising as I was super broke in my 20s, but this may affect people who are less broke than I was. It also seems like Target has eaten into a lot of their business as well. Target’s designer collabs almost always sell out, their home goods and clothes are all priced better than Macy’s for similar quality. As a bonus, Target sells electronics, groceries, etc. — things that Macy’s doesn’t. When Nordstrom opened a giant store in the Eaton Centre for a while, I went through the same thing – it was fun to walk through, but I couldn’t understand what kind of customer could afford to spend $2,200 on a peacoat…. and would still be buying one off a rack of them at a mall in general, instead of getting a personal session at Burberry or something.
The Nordstrom held firm and ultimately closed rather than lowering their prices, too. This will be no different. How could you tell? Last time I went there there was maybe two employees total in the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this entire store and everything was a complete mess. I have seen flea markets more organized. I would love to see malls slowly convert into small business hubs and community entertainment. I’ve heard lots of younger people are starting to hang out at malls again, but internet shopping makes buying things in mall retail where it’s 30% more expensive not make a lot of sense. But if there were game shops, restaurants, local boutiques, tailors, etc where things can be a little more bespoke or custom, it makes more sense to pay the higher premium.
Imagine instead of ugly strip malls the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this local nice mall takes in those small businesses that you know should be doing better but are getting held back by their original location choice? The one near me has converted one of the anchor wings in to entertainment space, it’s an arcade/bowling alley/pool table venue that’s open until 1am. Another wing is a show room for rare exotic cars. They’ve started leasing the parking lot to RV shows and hot tub vendors. There’s two indoor playgrounds, one that’s free and one that charges but has its own food court and wifi for the parents. It’s a pretty happening place now but only after it went through a 10 year slump. My local mall started renting a space to a marital arts club and even a High School. Several smaller businesses also rented out spaces. They’re still going to fail. Macys made their name on outstanding service, great product, and beautiful stores. The shareholders will tolerate none of that. They need returns right-fucking-now and rebuilding the brand takes too long. They’ll push it out a ways, but come 2030, Macys will go the way of Sears
Macy’s always used to be my go to store for any kind of clothing, shoes, and even makeup. It’s so disappointing how cheap and unappealing their clothing has become. And their shoe department has such poor service and lacking in sufficient stock. Even their makeup, when I spend half an hour trying on and picking out something based on the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this store sample, when I try to purchase it, they are out of stock on it and have to order it to be shipped. I think I won’t bother with Macy’s anymore. It’s a disappointment. I wonder how the Macy’s in Downtown Boston is doing. I’ve been to it a few times, and thought the merchandise was too pricey. If that Macy’s goes under, DTx is fucked. As someone who strongly prefers buying clothes in-person, this bums me out. I don’t buy a ton of stuff at Macy’s, but it has been my go-to for jeans for years. I think they stumbled when they eliminated regional and specific brands. When I was a kid Macy’s, A&S and Stern’s were very different experiences. They rebranded them all (at least the ones that didn’t close) to be Macy’s but they continued to be different so now you didn’t know which KIND of Macy’s you were in unless you knew what it was before. And outside the NYC area they took away regional brands people grew up with and replaced them with an unknown and frequently inferior product.
The funny part is – Simon Malls owns JCPenney. I think Simon also owns another retailer as well. Simon did bail out JCP, seeing how it’s an anchor store at many of their malls.
Taking someone else’s food from the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this fridge has always been beyond my imagination, yet I keep seeing examples on the internet. What the hell is wrong with those people. If it was after 5pm (we were a grocery store open til 10). And you left something in the fridge it was as good as eaten. I have no idea how the mind of someone like that works. It’s especially weird when they’re stealing from a co-worker. Like, presumably they know the person well enough, and still choose to steal their lunch from them. Are they so poor that they can’t afford food or are they just sociopaths? I’d be fascinated to hear from someone that regularly does this, just to see how they think or how they rationalise this sort of behaviour. I once caught the owner of my company eating my food in the break room. It was leftover lasagna, and said it looked too good to pass up. He was pulling in 20k a week I was making nearly 900 before taxes.
I have worked with the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this same team for a decade we don’t label our food we have a separate fridge for drinks which we chip in to buy. so it’s stocked with water cokes and energy drinks at any given time it’s 75% stocked a new guy started working with us on his first shift we noticed that 10 cans of monster energy drinks were missing. It was weird but no one said anything about it like a week later same guy is back someone’s yogurt goes missing. The person isn’t happy and makes it known to everyone me and some of the guy have a word about the situation I say it’s obviously the new guy and I’m kind of a say it how it type of guy coworkers told me don’t say anything to him. I leave it alone a week later half the drinks we paid for are gone in the span of two hours like 40-50 bottles missing I already know who it is so I go in the staff room and open his backpack all the drinks are in his backpack fucker got fired on the spot.
Sometimes, I can’t read these lunch stealing threads because it just pisses me off too much and I have never worked at a company that has a shared fridge. I can’t imagine opening the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this fridge, seeing food with someone else’s name on it and then just taking it and eating it. My brother does it all the time, the utter selfishness and disregard for other people is insane to me, such an asshole move. Idk what the thinking is but he always gives the excuse “oh I didn’t know” or some shit even if you go out of your way to label it and tell him. Lucky for me he eats like a 5 year old so I just put some vegetables in and it’s safe lmao Some people have the mindset of “any crime is ok if you don’t get caught”, and if they do get caught, instead of feeling remorse, they just regret slipping up.
Another comment said we’re devolving, but this mentality has always been here since the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this dawn of civilization. Saddening I worked at a place where a woman got fired for that. I sat right by her, and when they cleaned out her desk after walking her out, they found other people’s food containers, and even uneaten jelly donuts and other unpackaged food items. It was really gross. For people who struggled with food insecurity and/or eating disorders, they can easily develop a scarcity mindset that lasts for years even after they recover physically. This may cause them to feel anxiety if they don’t have food constantly on them or around them. It may also cause their cravings to be so intense and so specific that they cannot do anything except think about said foods. This could be a reason why the person mentioned above hoarded all that food; I may be wrong, but this is what it seemed like to me. I had a coworker like that at a law firm. It was an older lady of 66 years old. I noticed that one time someone threw out a dessert called sonho, a kind of ‘holeless donut’ thing, it had gone sour. Moments later i saw her putting away her Tupperware and the box in the trash can was empty. I felt so sad and she felt shame and explained to me she couldn’t throw away food and felt physically bad for doing it and how she grew up turning dumpsters to find food. Essentially she became a food hoarder even tho she had a nice paycheck and no more food insecurity, but I guess some things are ingrained like PTSD on the mind.
Just remembering and writing about this makes me tear up, she was a good person. She died in September 2020 of covid and pneumonia. yes. ocd, ptsd, and im sure a myriad of other things can cause someone to have food anxiety and store up food for no real reason. its a fight i had to fight when i got old enough to have a paycheck and buy food. i could finally feed myself and could rely on the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this money i made, but suddenly even scraps of food at work were coming home w me and j sitting in the fridge. it can be rly hard to overcome tbh, and i feel for ppl who have it. Fr I have a similar problem. At my part-time job they put snacks in the break room and I take some even if it just sits in my bag or I can’t bear to eat it when I have the chance. I even did the same thing as a kid because of my sister’s medical issues, such as hiding food under my bed or in my closet and eating it in the dead of night My grandma who has dementia does that, and it sounds pretty common among dementia patients. Gran at least squirrels away packaged treats (individually wrapped brownies, granola bars, etc.), and not prepped food like one of my friend’s mom did.
Food hoarding is a symptom of a lot of issues that come from trauma. Obviously, food insecurity is one of the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this top reasons. Also bulimics do hoard food sometimes. And there are other types of binge eaters that do. But it usually like still in edible condition? Maybe we should just stop defaulting to mental illness as an excuse, some people are just plain nasty, unashamed or clueless. people like you, who don’t believe in mental illnesses, really suck. it’s because of people like you that I couldn’t get any psychiatric help until well into adulthood Sadly that sounds closer to a disorder than the act of stealing lunches. Not anybody else’s cross to bear though. Yeah, I don’t get some of these stories on here. Someone caught stealing someone else’s food would have been terminated for theft at my old job (I work from home now so it’s no longer an issue). Seriously don’t get why it’s not instantly fired everywhere. If they can’t be trusted to not steal from people they work with everyday, what else can you trust them with? I was the person at my work falsely accused of stealing food. I was only vindicated after dropping to part-time where I was no longer there at lunch and didn’t even get a break yet the food kept disappearing. Never got an apology, just stopped getting accused.
I worked at a place that had someone stealing food like this and everyone was aggravated because nobody knew if their lunch would there come lunch time. I put up a sign about identical to OP’s which prompted HR to send an email out to the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this whole company. They didn’t address the food stealing though, they were mad someone put up a sign without approval and wanted to know who did it. This was at a place where we were all paid well there wasn’t anyone that might need to do it out of desperation. Eventually the person doing it got caught in the act, it was the CEO’s adult son who was a department manager. I’d really like to hear them explain themselves. Are they too lazy to pack their own, too cheap to order in, is it like a game to them or a surprise? Like, “Oh, I can’t wait to see what Cheryl brought in today…” Fucking psychos.
I worked with a guy who blatantly stole the Boston Celtics Caring Hearts Nurses shirt Furthermore, I will do this food in front of the owner and kind of turned his back so she wouldn’t notice. Management checked the cameras and fired him. This guy was always going on about how active her was at his church, too. I really don’t understand why ppl eat other ppls food at work , it’s gross u don’t even know if they are clean or not I made chili. Brought it in to work, in a lunch box with my name on it. Someone threw it out. Security pointed out who did it. We questioned them and they told me that they didn’t like it because “it was too spicy.” I swear some people flunked kindergarten. Waiting in a line, keeping your hands to yourself, sharing with other kids, not taking toys out of other kids’ hands. Just basic life mental models that so many grown adults don’t have. We need to have some kind of Billy Madison program in place.
