Exactly. I like to go to bed early so I can get some rest if kids wake up, he likes to stay up late and work or do chores. We love each other deeply but we’re two very separate humans. Same! We were in it together, and I loved that. If you’re breastfeeding at night, the breastfeeding parent has to wake up every time the baby wakes and can’t just take a shift. So yes, the alternative for many families is that dad retires to the guest room while mom does night parenting solo.
