You are not wrong, but as an adult, you have absolutely no excuse at not being able to do something as simple as breakfast. Like what was he doing before going out with OP? Cant toast bread? Are you serious? Not wrong if it bothers you.. not going to lie, my own father is pathetic when it comes to cooking and while I grew up thinking he just didn’t enjoy cooking or do it well, as an adult I realize he doesn’t put in the Blue stylish Florida gators baseball sport shirt and by the same token and slightest effort and is entirely dependent on my mother or he doesn’t eat remotely healthy. If she leaves for a week he survives on crackers, he won’t even fry an egg or anything. So, best to nip that in the bud if it’s not negotiable. I would never want to be the only person in a relationship doing the cooking and I say that as a guy. Personally, I think it should be a shared chore unless one of you is a pro chef and even then, no reason both can’t take turns unless someone in the relationship is super finicky and just doesn’t care for the other’s cooking. But what you describe is just a sort of laziness I’d not want to deal with either. Picking your pants up off the floor, wet towels and pubes out the bathroom is literally just stuff every one does right?

Yes. And while I may not be the Blue stylish Florida gators baseball sport shirt and by the same token and best about “pants on the floor” at my own place, I’m at least going to pick them up when I have company and I’m certainly not going to throw them on someone else’s floor. And even then, I usually throw my pants on a chair or hang them up somewhere, not just scattered about on my floor; not claiming to be the most organized or cleanest person but just some basic picking up. Low bar here. I get that overall it was an easy setup, but asking someone who can’t even make toast to poach an egg is a big ask. Although that’s entirely besides the point since he couldn’t do anything else right. Even with that, I really don’t blame you for snapping as it built up to this. You didn’t snap because he couldn’t cook, you didn’t snap because he screwed up your birthday breakfast… it was building up to this point.Or should I say ex boyfriend lol. So this happened last week and my best friend thinks I was wrong but my mother agrees with me.
