This sounds similar to our baby (3mos) and we’re realizing that she is more of a high needs baby than what seems to be typical. I thought she was on the Blue Jays baby girl shirt in other words I will buy this easy end of the spectrum because she’s not colicky, then I learned that all of the moms around me can put their babies down for naps, sit down while holding their baby, put them in the swing so they can make and eat food…. Not us. We LOVE her and she is so cute and sweet and funny, she has so much personality.. But we cannot put her down. I’m not exaggerating. If she is awake, one of us has to hold her save for walks where she will chill in the stroller or playtime on the mat IF one of us is there and engaging her. She will do up to 3hrs at a time in the bassinet between 11pm-8am but there are wake ups and we have to rocker her back to sleep. For naps during the day, contact only. She will not transfer during the day. We have to do 8hr shifts because we are both high sleep needs people. I take baby 6a-2:30p, Husband takes her 10p-6a, the in between time we spend together and trade off who is holding her, who’s doing a grocery run, etc. If we have to pee during our shift, we have to let her cry in the swing for a couple minutes.

Around the Blue Jays baby girl shirt in other words I will buy this 8 week mark she decided it’s not enough to just be held, we must also be walking around with her. The carrier is hit or miss. Sometimes she loves it and will even nap in it for an hour, sometimes she immediately gets frustrated that she can’t turn her head however she wants and starts crying. So we haven’t really been able to go anywhere with her yet. So as much as I don’t want to label our sweet girl as “difficult,” I don’t know anyone else struggling the way we are. Yea sounds like our little guy. I hope as he grows, he’ll be able to entertain himself more while left on a mat or in a swing. I hope so too for both of us!
