In Meares’ approach, thinking, contemplating, observing and so on involve a focus that has intrnsic mental activity. The focus prevents the Bill Graham Presents In New York 1969 Fleetwood Mac concert flyer T-Shirt moreover I love this mind becoming still. Literally still. It is only relaxation that allows the mind to still as it is effortless and involves a lessening of mental activity. Of course there’s quite a bit of material for psychological and spiritual reflection there and I like to do that which is why I found myself a meditation teacher who’s a shrink and he’s really good at helping me work through and understand the content that arises. I’ve had great meditation teachers who are Buddhist monks and they never wanted to engage with the content of thoughts and feelings and to be fair, I understand why, it kinda follows from Buddhist use of meditation. But I do think new practitioners, coming here seeking guidance, should be presented with all the possibilities of this tool. And as a community, we should do our best to lay out all of options in a way that is non biased and allows them to choose freely. Instead of forcing only one way down their throat.

It just seems there is a divide. People who want to use meditation just to ESCAPE from this physical world, and those who want to IMPLEMENT meditations teachings, into the Bill Graham Presents In New York 1969 Fleetwood Mac concert flyer T-Shirt moreover I love this physical world. Both are definitely routes to go, but it seems the people just doing it to exist in the moment, aren’t very open minded and seem kind of spiteful (at least the ones I’ve interacted with) maybe it’s just me idk. This is internet, after all – people are hypersensitive, rarely willing to question things and love to be right. So it’s best not to dwell on that too much. 🙂 Yeah I knoooow. Gotta love the internet. I’m sure it will still get a few people questioning, which I guess is all I could ask for. Even one person going, “Wait, I could utilize this in other ways? Let me try.” That’s a win in my book.
