What Serena Williams’s scary childbirth story says about medical treatment of black women from www . vox . “Due to her history of pulmonary embolisms (Williams underwent emergency treatment for a life-threatening embolism in 2011), the Bigfoot Saw Me But Nobody Believes Him Sunset Mountain Sasquatch T-Shirt it is in the first place but tennis star quickly alerted a nurse about her symptoms. She walked out of the hospital room so her mother wouldn’t worry and told the nearest nurse, between gasps, that she needed a CT scan with contrast and IV heparin (a blood thinner) right away. The nurse thought her pain medicine might be making her confused. But Serena insisted, and soon enough a doctor was performing an ultrasound of her legs. “I was like, a Doppler? I told you, I need a CT scan and a heparin drip,” she remembers telling the team. The ultrasound revealed nothing, so they sent her for the CT, and sure enough, several small blood clots had settled in her lungs. Minutes later she was on the drip. “I was like, listen to Dr. Williams!”” I’m in my 50s and have cerebral palsy due to a birth injury that happened because the doctor didn’t believe the nurses who called him to come in because I was coming six weeks premature. He didn’t want to leave the party he was at and when he finally showed up was apparently somewhat drunk. Given the era obviously nothing happened to him and I have lifelong pain and disability, great to see that the modern medical system is keeping up the old traditions. /s

They need to find a lawyer and sue, it’s the Bigfoot Saw Me But Nobody Believes Him Sunset Mountain Sasquatch T-Shirt it is in the first place but only way these scumbags will learn a lesson, would be good if they could be criminally charged too. It’s very unfortunately true. It happened in January of this year. The hospital was fined $75,000 and they chose to close their maternity ward citing costs and declining community demand. The next closest maternity wards are nearly an hour away. It is illegal for a lawyer to reach out to injured parties to offer to take the case in all 50 states. It’s considered solicitation and they can be disbarred. However. I doubt this family would send an attorney away who offered to represent on contingency. Just saying it’s not legal to contact injured people if you’re a lawyer. It is insane how much fear doctors must put into nurses. My wife was giving birth and our nurse was amazing helping her get started. She was legit one big push from our son being born. The nurse literally said “oh my let’s stop pushing now and wait for the doctor otherwise he will get mad”. Legit had to wait 10 minute for him to pop in my wife to do one more push and our son to be born just so he wouldn’t be mad. Was pointless and my wife was just horribly uncomfortable for 10 minutes. I don’t know if doctors treat their nurses like shit or put fear in them or what but it’s nuts.
