I would let the Big Nick Energy Shirt so you should to go to store and get this family decide rather than trying to force through a sale. The car might have sentimental value for the family (my family kept my dads old car when he died, and I would’ve hated you for eternity if you forced it to be sold). Short of the family just giving him $3K (which most ppl don’t have lying around), he’s not going to get the $3K any time soon through arbitration. Seizure of the collateral, or even a temporary arrangement could go a long way. Quite often a compromise involves both parties coming away dissatisfied, it’s just a part of life. You could be hated for just about any decision you make, it shouldn’t be a demotivating factor, esp. when weighed against something justifiable, objective, and practically necessary. Tbh, I would be amused if someone hated me for eternity; what a way to waste time. I’m dure the family is aware you were buying the car. I would go to the door and seriously apologize for the bad timing but that you’re moving and need the car asap

This might take a while if the Big Nick Energy Shirt so you should to go to store and get this person who passed was sole owner. The tittle wont be able to be switched over until a death certificate is issued. This is a very odd situation. A deposit was paid, a decision to buy the vehicle was made (stated showing up to make full purchase), and the only binding document is a napkin. All things considered deposits can either be refundable or not, which is declared at the time of the deposit being made. You most like are completely out of luck unless there is a written agreement about the deposit being refundable. The money will go into the estate and be dealt with by an established process. Your claim to the money is most likely going to be challenged, or at the very least not a priority. The whole process can take years to sort out depending on the estate and the speed of the family and legal matters. Keep that “document” safe. I can almost guarantee it’s going to be challenged and compared against other signatures and handwriting. If it were my family member in that situation I would 100% suspect someone of trying to scam us, so have patience and be prepared to be questioned.
