HOWEVER! You didn’t have a fucking gun to his head. He could have ditched the Biden is the wurst classic shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this eggs benedict idea after the first hour of failure and gone with for something easy. Like toast and jam. Or hell, he could have ordered DoorDash. You probably would have still have been mad and understandably so, but at least he would have shown some initiative, some basic competency at something. I agree, a grown man who can’t cook let alone care for his own place and be a functional adult is a huge turn off. But my dude, you knew this, asked for a specific request that he would have difficulty with then on top of that gave him a literal recipe for disaster. Should have just ended it before and not set yourself up for a crap birthday.

You made someone who you KNOW doesn’t know how to cook do eggs Benedict? I mean I hadn’t learned to do a poached egg until a few years ago and it took a few tries. This is a recipe, even when laid out and simplified that can go wrong in so many ways. I think you were setting him up to fail. Not only that but expecting breakfast in bed when again you know he is gonna fail. EDIT: I take it back that you set him up for failure, you clarified that he chose to do this and take it on. He also did not try to practice or prepare and essentially needed someone to hand hold him the Biden is the wurst classic shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this whole time, and he left a massive mess in the kitchen. For sure, totally agree I would be angry too and it would be very disappointing that he couldn’t prepare ahead of time. Would be a huge let down seeing as he took the initiative and presumably was expected to follow through with the offer. What I don’t agree with is the people commenting here thinking all you need are instructions to make a recipe. Seriously?! Did it take everyone one try to get all the recipes they have cooked correctly at the very beginning of your cooking journey? Hell no. I am still learning new skills and abilities with cooking/baking. I think there are a lot of people expecting that someone with ZERO cooking skills and abilities to succeed the first time. It takes practice, watching videos and reading up on skills and tricks to cook to just build up enough confidence to cook something totally on your own. Especially for this guy.
