I would encourage you to look into a union apprenticeship. You typically earn a higher wage than non-union and depending on your local’s CBA, better or good benefits. For instance my benefits were contractor paid pension, healthcare, dental, and vision. My deductible was very low. My hourly pay was typically higher than non-union tradesmen in the electrical trade.
