Sounds like it’s your first time really travelling in a developing country and you’ve got a few things to learn still. Yes some people in tourist areas may hassle you but a polite “no thank you” is all that’s needed. They’re just trying to make a living from people who are naive enough to, for example, think that the Best in a world where you can be anything be kind autism awareness elephant shirt and I love this lady carrying baskets is not going to want money for that photo. Take this all as a learning experience, don’t let it annoy you and you’ll soon realize 99% of people are amazing. Also when you say people are short changing you, sure sometimes they might be, but also maybe you’re using large bills and they don’t have enough change and you’re arguing over like 50 US cents? Dude this is SE Asia and Vietnam isn’t even that bad in the hassle department. Try going to South Asia haha. Even the sellers hanging around major European sights were worse in my experience.

Best in a world where you can be anything be kind autism awareness elephant shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Honestly just work on your street smarts, because until you do, travelling in a very large proportion of the Best in a world where you can be anything be kind autism awareness elephant shirt and I love this world will make you feel the same discomfort which you’re experiencing now. You would struggle to enjoy some really beautiful parts of the world like India, Sri Lanka, and part of the Americas like Cuba etc, until you adjust your behaviour and expectations. I’ve been to Vietnam three times and never been scammed, so it’s not like its some absolute certainty that tourists fall for these things. Once you develop a pretty simple set of skills, the problems you’re describing just stop being issues. Yeah, Rome was a lot worse than Hanoi OQ. I think most Vietnamese have been kind and helpful so far into my trip (staying 3+ months). Sapa Town has been the worst so far in my eyes due to the exploited kids, pushy vendors and just the Vegas-like hustling that takes place there.
