It’s fucked up how much he’s constantly celebrated on this website. Muhammad Ali was not a good person. The only reason people think so highly of him is because he spent his last 30 years shaking and mumbling. The man was a no good jerk A lot of people seem to forget that Ali specifically stated later in life that he regretted how he treated Frazier. He also became good friends with Frazier and they did amend their relationship in the later years. Yeah I know, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that Ali had flaws. He, at one point, harbored racist, black nationalist views. And what he did to Frazier was quite awful. But the most important thing is that he became a better man and regretted his past actions which caused many suffering. But never actually apologized to Frazier directly, and said he’s still a gorilla. That doesn’t sound like alot of regret. Guess I’ll get downvoted for this since everyone seems to hold Ali in the highest regard, but the more I learn about the guy the more respect I lose for him. Due to fawning over him in the later stages of his life due to his medical issues, many forget that Ali was a giant AH, most of his life. Dude could fight, for sure, but was still a world class AH.

Did he? I was reading that he never apologized to Fraizer and that they hated each other until they died. Don’t know much about this admittedly Hey may, reportedly, have regretted it, but he never apoligised directly to Frazier. Instead, when confronted with this he again called Frazier a gorilla. In an interview Frazier once laughed at Ali’s inability to speak and said, “I did that to him.” Both men, not saints. I can’t blame him for saying that honestly, if you got called an “Uncle Tom” and had your kids harassed because of his bullshit I don’t think there would be a lot of empathy for a man like that. Ali was a bigot and a monumental racist.
