An old lady came up to me in the Basset Hound Happy Mother’s Day To My Amazing Mommy T-Shirt in addition I really love this park and said my dog was “absolutely gorgeous – a real princess! What’s her name?!” so after a little pause i said her name was in fact Princess, and she was just delighted. He is a boy. His name is not Princess. I think I felt bad disappointing her, and wanted to keep conversation short and positive so it was the best thing to do? Maybe. If somebody misgenders my dog I never bother correcting them unless it’s somebody I interact with a lot, my dog doesn’t care about gender and correcting people feels awkward, I get you Same (only about my cats). They don’t care if they’re referred to as boys or girls, and I’m not going to correct someone just making a passing comment. For some reason people tend to default to “she” for cats, though.

A passing lady once told me my sunbathing cat was beautiful. I told her that my cat thinks she (the Basset Hound Happy Mother’s Day To My Amazing Mommy T-Shirt in addition I really love this passing lady) was beautiful. The passing lady seemed so happy, so me and the cat were happy too. That’d thr sort of white lie I’d tell to avoid the awkwardness of having to say ‘thanks but actually no, I’d never forget it’ followed by 3 days of me relentlessly asking myself WTF is wrong with me Otherwise it would have been as awkward as the time the studio presenter on the One Show said she didn’t like ice-cream or chocolate brownies during a location piece about ice-cream and chocolate brownies. Sometimes you just have to keep the conversation flowing. That is the most awkward clip I’ve ever seen. It’s true awkward. Not overly dramatic awkward. Just perfect, understated awkwardness. I can feel every single awkward in that clip.
